unfortunately add me to the list! I couldn't believe how much oil there was around there! (15000 miles). Time to go to the dealer - fortunately Hendrick Chevrolet has been excellent so far in service - if you have to buy a car in the NC area, I highly recommend them (both sales and service). Lets see how they do on this one.

im in the same boat as many people with these dealers... first off in my area, North Jersey... it seems that GM only put about 10 for sale in a 100 mile area. When i was looking for one, to get a good deal, i had to go to Ohio... but reguardless it sucks knowing that if i want free work on my car i need to put it in the hands of someone that knows 1% of what i do about the car... and yess when a mechanic finds out about how powerful our car is of course he is gonna take it for a chaotic ride... i just hope that if he is beating the **** out of my car he crashes it going 60 in a 25.... that would make my day.

My dealer hasn't - they actually commented on them last time I was in there (in a positive way - "I see you got your charge pipes and intercooler, looks good")

Since piping has nothing to do with this oil leak, there isn't anything they can say legally. If they give you crap about it, make sure you have a copy of the law that says they have to prove it was the piping that caused the problem. They wont be able to. Hopefully you don't have dicks that big at your service department.. They are so desperate for customers right now, they are really focusing on service. They cant afford to lose you.

So Hendrick has a good service department? I take mine to a near buy dealer, but had some body work done at Hendrick Collision Center. Anyways, have you had the sensor leak fixed at hendrick yet? If so let me know how it went, because I may go to them if the dealer in Hillsborough doesn't fix it. Which they are plenty good here as well.

LOL Ill let you know once I go via PM - I just posted that today and the dept is closed on Sundays . But overall I have been pleased with them - they even did my alignment for me after I installed the lowering springs - they had to grind a bit to align it right and even gave me a discount on what they normally charge since Ive been in there so much and spent enough money with them (replacing a wheel and hub, ouch, and my stock intercooler, also ouch)

i don't think your bolt ons will be enough for them to deny coverage on the sensor

so I should be fine huh.....

they should make this a recall on our vehicles!

What does it take for an issue to become a recall?

Bring it in for service. The more of these GM sees, the closer we get to a recall that will fix it permanently. It also gives them a larger sample to look at to determine what the root cause is.

they cannot deny your waranty because of bolt ons this is obviously a manufaturing defect.

the law states that they must determine that your modifications caused the problem.
Bolt ons will not affect the cam sensor to leak.

X2.
This has absolutely nothing to do with mods so if anybody's dealer gives them crap tell them to go to hell and bring it to a new dealer.

Oil doesn't conduct electricity, you shouldn't have an issue with the connector unless oil gets between the prongs which is pretty hard to do.

I am leaving for the dealer now I will let you guys know how it went!

OKAY++++++++++++ Heres the update from ym visit to the dealer with full bolt ons

So they took it in and looked at it, he said I have minor sweating, he also said he tightened it and I should keep my eye on it and if there is any further details regarding the issue to bring it back

As for warrrenty, the guy told me I was crazy, he said that it is voiding my warrenty all together and anyone else would have voided it on me and told me to get lost, but he said he dosn't really care. I will take it back to him most likely in the future if I have problems!

There was oil in where the prongs are on mine. Lots of it actually. I cleaned it out with carb cleaner because it was the only solvent I had I would reccomend using electrical terminal cleaner if you have any. I blew out the excess cleaner with an air compressor.

so maybe just tightening this thing down will make it so I don't have to bring it in?

If so forget the dealer until this becomes a recall I'm not worried about a little oil and cleaning it every so often.

Dude you really should bring your car in so GM sees a lot of these coming back for the same reason so they actually do something about this issue.

Yeah lets force a recall. Wooohooo. Next Headline, GM goes broke from new recalls!

Kidding. Sucks both ways. I just don't understand how they could get this to happen, their LNF production is pretty high and shouldn't be having a problem like this late in the game.

The good news is that because it is so common I dont think that it is an issue with the heads being pourous or anything. It is probably not the right size seal or o-ring which ever it takes. I wish it was easier to get to I have access to almost any size o-ring you can imagine but it is a PETA to get to if you do not know exactly what you are doing.
