K&N CIA - opinions

hey guys the car is getting put away soon, so im gonna start buying parts. i figure ill start with bolt ons and a tune and go from there. i read the sticky on intakes (great info!) but im curious as to how the K&N for the 2.0 LNF performs anyone out there whos got one?! let me know how you like it!

I have the K&N and it's awesome. Sounds like a shopvac sucking in air. Makes the BPV loud as **** too, especially if you're boosting above stock levels. Install was pretty simple too since it's a short ram and not a cold-air intake.

I also have the K&N intake, many of us do. It performs well and sounds just as good.

Great intake.. But title should read K&N SRI, not CAI.

oops my bad , arent they configurable to either one SRI or CAI though? my bad aside, i think its safe to say i now have a starting point for my modding

Yup, K&N is a short ram, with a heat shield box, so it is much better than your "average" short ram intake! K&N is one of the best.

Exactly! PM us if you have any questions, remember we do have them in stock. Many places do not stock this particular intake system.

I couldn't really hear by bypass valve before I installed my K&N SRI..... now it's super loud at every blow off.

I love my K&N. To be honest though sometimes I miss my car being quiet. As far as CAI's or SRI's go functionally the K&N has been great. Just be aware that every time you accelerate and let off the gas you will hear the turbo and hear the blowoff. Most of the time I like it, but sometimes I wish it was quiet again.

im not too worried about any noises, since im storing it over winters ill have plenty of time to recover from too much turbo goodness lol ..... if thats even possible lol but really i just wanted all of your opinions since it seemed to be the one intake i didnt hear any reviews on as of a week ago! i appreciate all of the input! i know the thread might have seemed a little newbish but i just like to know all of my options!
