I guess the connectors are like dryer gas lines. They say to replace them everytime you take them off.

so I'm bringing this topic back to life tghe question I have is that I just bought a 08 LNF which I strip down to be able to paint the block and head but the thing is before I took the HPFP off I saw oil residue around that and the camshaft plate so I ordered the oring and gasket forf the HPFP and also the gasket for the camshaft plate but I'm reading around that guys are using 3 bond RTV IS that with the gasket or just RTV

what u do is, with the cam plate you remove the oring completely, fill the grove with rtv, squish it in good, then do a beed on top of that yet and put it back together. let dry. on the pump u put rtv around the gasket where the pump spring goes through it on both sides, then I believe on top of the one oring. then ur cam angle sensors both in front and back of motor, remove them, remove their oring and put rtv under them, then put oring back on and put rtv on top of them, if I remember correctly, then install. let dry, and no more oil leaks ever.

Ugh man. So I went to do my oil change before storing the car for the winter. There was the light oil all over the engine and oil pan. I know there was a TSB for the valve cover and HPFP, but I didn't want to have a dealer touch it. So when I pull it out in the spring, I'm assuming I'll need to do the works up top with gaskets. This was documented WAY back when it was a new issue. Is the same info still good? Like no updated new locations of leaks or new gaskets and such? I have pics. I'll pull from my phone.
