i have a feeling those three rods that snapped were probably tuned by the same person instead of "three different" tuners as the OP says.....hence why they are not being named.

what im realy curious about gmtech blah blah blahs claims are.....if your car was smoking as you picked it up from zzp........then why the **** would you pick it up instead of make them fix it? you cant possibly be that stupid......at least i hope not.
Can you not read? I didn't see it smoking until I got home, I smelt it though. .. but keep in mind I was cruising 70mph on a 2 hour drive.

Ryan- not butthurt bro its your opinion. You would like that though

That doesn't make too much sense, try again Kyle? :-)

No opinion though. I was saying what I've heard from the horse's mouth bro. And from what I've seen. Unless you were lying lol

Since don't have details on each calibration map don't want to bash names without details.
But with just a name said here was enough for now, ZZP has been very straight and clear, seems rods on LDK are weaker than LNF, showing those picts was to open a discussion about if LDK is weaker than LNF that seems to be true.
Guess it was just a bad batch then. It happens unfortunately. Id still take the ldk over the lnf.

ehhh i wouldnt go that far.... he actually has a clue about what he's doing.

I have my own opinions on this hole situation but im not getting involved with this situation...... Kyle can do what he wants as far as handling the situation. From dealing with Kyle on a couple instances hrs s pretty cool dude. I'm not basing zzp I'm not bashing anyone here either.

Mxman38, I honestly want to know why in the hell would you still beat on your car if noticed funny smells and lots of smoke?

That would be like me right now with my car being down with a broken 2nd gear locking ring taking it out and beating the hell out of from 1st, grinding the **** out of it to get into second, and then rowing through the rest of the gears. Just doesn't make sense. If something is wrong, somethings wrong. That's all that's to it.

By the way, gmtech is no way in hell Rakes. If you really think that, compare the 2s sentence structure and punctuation. Lol.

Yeah.... well can we assume that the rods are different on the regal, or is it the ldk specifically? It got a bit off topic.

I have never seen or heard of a lnf or ldk smoking like that without a oil seperator. And it's an oil seperator u need not a catch can, catch can don't work if the ldk is like the lnf. But still never heard of one smoking like that. Whoever told u that needs a slap in the head. Or just wanted to get rid of u.

This is what I would like to know. Zzp is finding now the rods are weaker than the previous gen motors? Then where did the "supports 500whp in it's stock form" from? I'm running this motor in my lsj-t. Not news I really want to be hearing...

I expected it to be on par with the other gen motors which had no problem supporting 500whp

"The LDK engine uses a Gen 3 block, larger oil pan, higher compression pistons, and several enhancements over the LNF. In it's stock form it makes ~10 more HP than the LNF but can handle up to 500WHP."

Right, but did they actually test this or just throwing it out there is what I'd like to know. Just this comment is why I ask:

that thread that was posted earlier in this link said that it was only some bad batches and not all though? right? i didnt get the chance to read it. and if your motor is one with a bad batch i would hope/assume they would warranty that **** if you throw a rod. id be searching before i had that happene though, just to avoid the headache of it.

Yes, we ran one of our Gen 3 motors in my car and pushed 500whp without issue. I refer to it as a one of our gen 3 motors because we sourced these from Europe as A20NFT, which were engines built for Saab and Opel. These are also listed to be the same motor as LDK, but I can't verify if there are any differences. Regal motors are designated LHU and could easily have internals sourced from a different plant. I'm not saying that I know this for fact, but I also don't know otherwise. Consider this similar to how GM changed to weaker rods in later 2.4 motors for unknown reasons.
