I don't know. I have spoken to some people that claim to have spoken to Bosch engineers about E85 on the LNF and they were told that while the fuel system technically isn't certified for E85 it meets the design requirements for it.

I have also read that engines that are not designed for E85 may see accelerated exhaust valve wear due to the more corrosive nature of E85 fuel. I am not sure if that will be a problem with the LNF or not.

I am going to post information on our website about this today. You can email me for details, also.

Also will we be able to switch from e85 to 93 by reflashing the car using the EZ Flash cable?

Yes - E85 tune will be provided simply as a separate tune file.

Yeah, you really need to get a good dyno run (before injection timing change and after) from someone with a new clutch in a Kappa so you don't have to deal with these clutch issues.

Hmmm, I wonder who has one?

So the same would be true in reverse, if you were tuned for e85 and had to put gas in you'ed be running very fat then... right?
Correct.

I've been running 4 oz Marvel Mystery Oil to 10 gals of the E blend since I started my experiments last year, I figure the extra lube with the ethanol can't hurt.

I am Broke, Do you still use a small amount of marvel mystery oil to offset the drying of the E? I know a lot of the people on bob is the oil guy swear by that stuff in every tank of regular gas even and I have read about homebrew race gas mixes using it also to help with seals, valves, pumps etc.

Yes, 4 oz to 10 gallons. I've been using the stuff on & off for almost 40 years. I used it in my model aircraft racing engines as an after run lube to keep the bearings from rusting with the methanol & nitromethane also.

Sorry, my question was aimed more at horsepower/torque. I definitely understand the benefit of injection window misfire.

Also, I started my E85 runs late in the RPM band because on E85 my clutch is extremely unhappy about the extra power at low to mid RPM. I really wish I could show the torque at those lower RPMs because I'm quite sure it would be pretty phenomenal, but, well, I can only do so much with the clutch I have. Lol

The blue run is stock

The red run is tuned for gasoline

The green run is tuned for E85
What were your SAE/STD corrected numbers, if you don't mind me asking.

+1

I had to re-train myself with regard to this car and it's damn finicky throttle/clutch. After doing so and adjusting how power comes on, clutch is fine and dandy

100% Correct. There have been quite a few studies done to show that E85 is no more corrosive, if not less, than regular old gasoline w/detergents on things such as; Sensors, fuel lines, fuel pumps/fuel pump hat, engine internals etc.

Thanks again Vince.

Updated my files tonight for the latest E85 2400 psi layer with 20* advance up top. Added another 5 gals of E85, should be 85% ethanol now or damn close. We'll see what tomorrow brings, but it's supposed to be a rainy week here.

Thanks again Vince for all you do for the community.

Is that on the beast or the sedan? I know you have that SPec clutch in the coupe.

I need to datalog in phoenix sometime. With a preggers wife and a car full of E85 I logged a 60-100 of 5.1 sec on vinces tune. (at 3000+ ft altitude.)

So without my wife riding shotgun, and a car full of E85, lower altitude. Sub 5 sec 60-100 should be possible in the sedan. (Only mod is AB Mod and tune)

From what I saw in the file too, this was only with 18 degrees of advance up top.
