91 octane

Full E85

I will try and get some 60-100 times soon.

I'm still going to be sending Vince some more logs as soon as I fill up again.

You need more timing up top, the car should almost hold peak power to 6500RPM.

They seem to be handling it fine. Its direct injection, so its not an injector thing. Its more of a pulse width, fuel pressure, and fuel pump thing.

Still toying with timing right now. I should have some files with timing changes for my dyno time.

I don't understand, can someone please explain why I would want to do this, how safe it is for me and my mods, Colorado has hundreds of E85 stations because we're so high they want to promote clean burning fuel. We only have 91 octane up here, nothing higher.

If I ask Vince to tune me for e85 do I need parts? If I get tuned for e85 can I use regular fuel (like a flexfuel car) I just need to be educated but from the basics and with basic term.

Thanks

You would want to do this if you want to make more power simply by changing fuels

can i use regular fuel and e85 whenever I want, even mix it like flexfuel cars

also since it's cleaner burning can I use a catless downpipe? Think I'll pass emissions?

Seriously Colorado has a lot of e85 stations, so I'd be doing it to avoid $4 gas prices

No. Unfortunately it's not a flex fuel vehicle. If you want to run E85 you need to run either some preset mix of E85 with a special tune OR gasoline and be able to switch the tune when the fuel is changed.

It is doubtful you'd pass emissions with no catalyst just from running E85 but maybe you would.

No you can cannot mix and match. I wish our cars had that ability.

Once you choose the mixture you want, you gotta stick with it. Hence why many don't like the idea of switching.

We can try it but remember he's at 5000 ft or something like that. Airflow really dies on cars up there at high RPM.

The Lsj needed to have their injectors upgraded to 80lbs/tune to run e85, not sure if the Lnf will need bigger injectors then the stokers.

Vince do you thing it will ever be possible for you to make 2 switchable maps. One for E85 one for 91? Like a selectable tune, but for different fuels....

the LNF is direct injection.... we are already running full E85 without problems in some cars

Its only been mentioned in this thread 5 times, sorry for asking you to read instead of just posting lol..

Vince - If airflow drops, lean out and increase timing

Tucson has several areas above 3K feet. Our track is at 2900 ft, and thats in a low lying area. I live in sahuarita, which is in a valley, still 3045 ft above sea level. We also have 2 10K+ ft mountains. Also its on average 10-15 degrees cooler here than the phoenix area because of our alt. And we are about 150 miles closer to the equater. Also cars run 2-3 10ths slower here, because of the altitude, and trap about 2 mph lower here.

And the guy on the dyno is in NM
