ahh ok sounds good

also how do your valve springs compare to supertech or patriot? ( supertech is more and patriot is less i think)

also whats you opinion on running 72lbs valve springs instead of 78?

I don't have any experience with the Patriot springs, but I can compare the ZZP springs to the Supertech double springs. Although rated at 78 lbs, Supertech springs are actually close to 87 lbs on the seat when installed with the spacers for the center springs. The way it raises the center spring up reduces the coil bind to .450", but that doesn't really matter to people running stock or mild cams. If you installed the Supertech springs with custom center sleeves to allow the inner springs to sit as low as the outer springs, then the seat pressure would be closer to 78 lbs and coil bind would be over .480".

The ZZP Ecotec valvesprings come in right around 78lbs when running the stock retainers. Coil bind is also around .450". Switching to ZZP retainers changes the installed height approximately .025" allowing .475" to coil bind with a seat pressure of 74 lbs. The best feature of the ZZP springs is the price being almost half of the price of the Supertech kit, yet still getting the job done very well.

Stock spring seat pressure varies from car to car depending on mileage and usage. We have measured some as low as 45 lbs, while others are in the low 50s.

I wanted to give an update on the car. The car is running great! The new stage 4+ clutch feels good. The drivability is good, no chatter the tension is good with out being too stiff.
I am learning to drive the car higher in the RPM range with the new turbo and motor work. On a hard run I now need to shift around 7300 RPM's. The car pulls very strong up high in the RPM range.

I took the 245/40 18 tires from the front of my C6 and put them on the car to try to see how they fit and try for some more grip. They seem to fit good with no rubs. I have KW2 coilovers on the car so it is lowered some but no rubbing.

The tires did not give me alot more grip. The car has LSD and still spins all the way through 2nd gear. It seems to be gripping better in 3rd.

Thank you for this post. I was going to inquire about street drivability. Most just want to see HP numbers, and I want to see how you can put the power to the wheels. =)

So from a 40 roll you spin for a bit but get the traction in 3rd? And daily driving wise how is it? And can you still use Launch Control and No-Lift Shift?

This is possible on the stock turbo for the most part I believe.

Thanks for the update. I'm surprised it spins that much in 2nd gear since the boost is reduced a bit in 2nd. Remember that you can dial in your power by gear in the torque management section.

I saw a big difference in boost between Matt's car with same setup 23psi vs this car which is 28 psi. Why didn't you try higher boost levels with Matt's car?

Also, Matt was mentioning he hit fuel limitations. You said you are working with Vince and the fuel issues are solved since he unlocked the fuel table. Also you have your "mechanical HPFP mod" which allowed you to push 540whp, is there a reason that this mod was not done in this case?

Glad you are enjoying the new setup, hopefully I will be spinning my tires again soon.

The dyno pull on the last page was 28psi peak, but only about 25psi where the HP peaked at. 436whp was corrected, which is pretty close to what my car made at 25psi, at least within a few hp.

The reasons I was able to get well past 500whp last fall were the larger turbo(256), ported head, and race gas.

Matt,
I do remember how you showed me to do the boost adjustment by gear. For now I am having too much fun doing 150ft long burnouts in 2nd gear!!LOL
I am going to switch to my race nitto tires and see how that works on the grip first. That will give me a good idea of what I need to do. Also since the 245/40 size is working well, i will plan on that size on my next set of tires.

The track opens for test and tune sessions in 2 1/2 weeks. I can't wait to get it back out on the road course and see what the new lap times will be.

Id imagine this kit would have you struggling for traction in third gear as well without good tires. Hell my Trifecta tune gets me loose on a 40 roll and this thing is making like 100whp more than me.

Really? Mine is rather linear. I spin a little, but not too much in 2nd. I'm on a trifecta tune and full bolt ons.

Are you still on the conti's? I am. At 40 even if I roll onto the throttle it still comes loose. Gonna be buying tires within the next couple months

I too was looking into the cryo kit.. similar to the SRT-4 II, but does not use distilled water. What are peoples thoughts on this kit??

If you are spraying cryo, make sure you keep it far from the air filter. Co2 in the intake air will hurt HP.
