Where is the GM stage kit?
lol, I got it and enjoyed the passion very much
Seriously though, trust me, we direct those messages to the right people so keep them coming!
Nobodies turning their back on you or anybody else on here. Not as long as we're around and we're not going anywhere
Oh, yeah. The kit includes a little more than the rest of the LNF Upgrade kits so it'll be worth the wait

That is very good to know Alpha. I just had to get that out of my system. I traded in a perfectly good '05 Hyundai for the SS for a few reasons. #1 just about the same gas mileage #2. american car #3 probably the quickest and best handling car under $30k (if not $35k) #4 did I mention American car? #5 GM has ALWAYS had the best aftermarket support of any domestic car company - this car is my driver. I bought it in November '08 and today it just clicked over 10,000 miles. Not one issue.
As I stated before many, many pages back... My Uncle at GM Dearborn, Mi has stated that there will be NO, I repeat, NO stg kit for the cobalt SS in the forseeable (yes thats a real word spelled correctly) 1.5 years or so, GM has disbanded the performance division employees to other areas of the company for the next few years also precluding the kit from coming out for the balt....GM's financial position and lastly... They've been having issues with the kits in the HHR\TC.......... Dont waste time waiting for something that may NEVER make it out because the SS\TC will be gone soon too.... And, the kit that is for the HHR\TC will not work on SS\TC... its been tried......
It's like the Chase the Dragon game from South Park. You keep sticking the needle in your arm but you never catch the dragon.
For you new guys that are just coming into this world TRUST ME, back when GM was talking about releasing stage kits for the LSJ, 3 years ago now, and I was not in the position I am in now, I was hitting F5 every 5 seconds on 10 different pages trying to find out when the stupid kit was out. I can not tell you how much I know what you guys are feeling right now. It hurts and your entire life is revolving around trying to figure out when this kit comes out. At least that's how I was but I know I'm a loser
That being said, the SECOND I can let any shape, size and color cat out of the metaphorical bag I will do so on here to direct you to more info on GMTunerSource.com

we don't know who knows what, but what we do know is that GM Performance Parts and the GM Performance Division, are two different divisions... the GM Performance Division got disbanded, GM Performance Parts continues to be one of the few GM branches actually turning a profit..........Now which one do you think GM is going to continue?
so the uncle in Michigan who says because the Performance Division got disbanded, no Stage kit is full of ****......Gm Performance Parts just launched the crate LS9, that is right, a 625+hp crate engine... have two more crate engines slated for release this year.... yet they aren't going to put out a $600 stage kit that is already pretty much developed? lol...

But this does raise the question yet again as to why the extreme level of secrecy? This is not some incredible technology in the works....just a tune and possibly an intake. Clearly they are stalling for time or something because it just doesnt make any sense.
Had the ocassion to talk to Tom at CED this morning. Ordering my Ipod adapter. I hate to even ask him about the upgrade. But I did anyway. Seems there is some back and forth at GMPP about the need for a new intake. That's all Tom has been told anyway. Just to be patient.
It's just that if I tell you that the LNF Upgrade Kit for the Cobalt comes with 5 widgets and only 4 widgets are needed and released then everyone is going to go crazy about how GM dropped the ball about getting the other widget and then X performance company will come out with the widget that has louvers over your laminova cores and does absolutley nothing and they charge you $100 for it and at the end of the day you'll just be more pissed at GM for not making the widget in the first place and you end up thinking that you have to buy a stupid product from some dumb company in Canada to make up for it.
See, isn't it just simpler for me to just say be patient and I'll let you know when you can know EXACTLY what to expect and when to expect it?

I'm swapping the engine in my car this weekend to get my built motor re-honed so I can go and terrorize the streets again.*
*By streets of course I mean a closed race track under professional supervision.
go to GM Tuner Source or whatever and read their latest article
"They accredited this egregious error in part to the fact that the cabin in the GTI was better and it was equipped with a nifty DSG gearbox. However, there isnt enough nifty inside the GTI to wipe the look of disappoint off ones face as the Cobalt SS racks up over 7.5 more mph in the 1/4 and almost 2 full seconds of lap time around a short one-mile racetrack. All while having saved over $2,000 more dollars on the MSRP of our Cobalt SS versus the GTI that we can use to strap on tons more go fast goodies from GM Performance Parts like the upcoming LNF Upgrade Kit that will give the Cobalt SS an increase of over 30hp and 80lb.-ft or torque. Stay tuned to GMTunerSource.com for all the latest info on that upgrade also."
