Where is the GM stage kit?
exactly, bolt-ons will now actually do something
My question is will you be able to flash a tune over the new tune, with the new sensors, and will the car respond just as well as it does with the current sensors. Or will new tunes have to be made up for the new sensors?
No. If you want to be able to use the new sensors then you will need the Stage Kit for its OS reflash. It will rescale the MAP voltage scale so it will properly read the sensors.
Since you're keeping the same ECU, I would imagine that it would react just the same to uploading a new tune then as it does now. A new tune would be needed though to fully utilize the new sensors.
In theory, you should be able to use your old tune after the Stage Kit. The OS reflash is on the ECU OS firmware level and shouldn't affect your tune (although a new Stage Kit tune does get loaded when you get the kit). The tune doesn't read the sensors hooked up to the ECU, the ECU OS does, so you should be able to reflash your old favorite tune back over the Stage Kit tune. You would then be able to retune with the ability to go higher than the current 22.5psi or so.

I've re-read that GM release twenty times now and get the same thing every time. If you buy the "Stage one" kit at the end of June you will get everything BUT the new intake. If you wait the 3 more months and buy the "Stage two" kit you will get everything in the "Stage one" kit AND an intake. I read this as if you want the GM intake you have to wait three more months and then you have to buy the WHOLE PACKAGE. It doesn't say anything about buying the intake seperately, only as a complete package. I really think GMPP understands many people have already bought aftermarket intakes, CAI's and SRI's, so why make the people spend the money for an intake they really don't need. I think they're making a subtle hint and giving us an added incentive to buy our intake of choice. You'd be saving the money you didn't spend on the GM part and applying it towards the one you really DO WANT. For those that HAVEN'T bought an intake, wait and get the matched GM part with your "Stage two" kit. Actually I think they are doing us a favor. Hey DAN at CIA!! Send me a Cold Air Inlet!!
JMHO!
JMHO!
are there any companies that sell JUST the elbow that goes into the BPV?
that is the most restrictive part and is really where the gains are made in a new intake system, pretty much, its what I expect "Stage II" to consist of, a new freaking elbow

check that out, they are advertising all the diff intakes u can get to go with the stage kit, i guess they do want u to get an aftermarket intake. lol the stage 1 kit with the hahn intake will make the most power according to hahns dyno sheet, 304hp and i dont know about torque
hahn 275 + 29 = 304
aem = 275 + 17 = 292
injen = 275 + 15 = 290
they dont have the dejon on there. so thats about what we'll be seeing, how nice. if those numbers are accurate that is

They need to get the CIA flavors up there after they completely come out.
Edit: What's interesting too is it looks like they're only going by the advertised power increases. The need to slap these on a test mule and see fo' real.
i seriously doubt that gm is gonna run 23 psi on the upgrade. maybe 20 at most. this is the gm stage upgrade info, not another tune
no. the tune lets you reap the benefits of aftermarket. Stage 1 is basically a canned tune from GM.
