Where is the GM stage kit?
so I talked to my service guy today about "aftermarket parts" He tells me kids come in here all the time with the #4 cylinder fried on the old SS and they can tell they had aftermarket parts cause they would grind down the mount for the pulley to fit and tried putting the original pulley back. He told me that the T/C has the ability to keep track of any codes thrown and will save them to date. This is when an engine light comes on due to something happening to the engine like maybe a missfire and then it goes away. If you bring the car in and they scan it, they will see that CEL that was recorded on it. This also goes with swapping the PCM and using a tuner to flash it and flash it back. They know by my house and they will use it against me for warranty work, so I opt to wait for this GM kit or just wait till warranty is gone.

agreed. if you switch the ecu you should be fine. there is a little black box in the tc's that tell how many times you no lift shift and use launch controll within the last 1000 miles but the nls shouldnt void anything unlike nissian and launch controll does but who in there right mind uses lauch controll???

It's a limited capacity box only for use by law enforcement. Could the dealer access it?... Maybe... but it's still only the last minute before you wrecked/turned off the car.
In other news,
I have been watching the CARB site where they have posted up announcements when the last few kits have been approved for use in California.
There still has been nothing about a kit for the 2009 SS/TC, the 2008 coincidentally was approved months ago with the HHR and Solstice.
Also the Camaro, recently had an air intake approved

You can search through the "Executive Orders" (approvals) at that link.
GM is D-126-1 through D-126-28
I think the other approvals for the LNF upgrade were around 23-24

That's the "black box" with a sub-1 minute memory that constantly records over itself every minute or so. That's so if you wreck the cops can use it to help find out what happened the last minute up to the wreck.

I don't know if you have any other choice for dealerships but if mine started threatening me because of a few questions I asked, I'd be dealing with someone else in a heart beat.
Whatever the case, I'm waiting. I'm not going to try and test the waters to see what I can get away with.
Hearing this "3rd Quarter" stuff is a bit of a letdown but there's nothing I personally can do about how long it's taking so NO BIG DEAL!
When it gets here, it gets here. I'll just be excited when it FINALLY does.
