Where is the GM stage kit?
Probably longer on the Cobalt because our cold side map is much harder to get to than the Solstice's.
When the dealer has a part number to order. And the guys getting down on the "intake". GM isn't putting a new pipe in there for looks. The stock intake caused more turbulance, and/or restricttion, than was acceptable. They couldn't get a solid T/MAP reading. The new pipe smooths out the flow. Don't forget, the T/MAPS are brand new and have different air flow requirements to work right.
Any dealer that has a Tech2 diagnostic machine can do the install. All they have to be able to do is read.

Thats good news buell - because if I was going to have to go to a GMPP dealer, I would have to travel an hour, and that's not cool.
I would think my dealer has a Tech II - plus they offer a "lifetime warantee" if I spend all my money for service there.....so that would be beneficial.

JMHO!
If you look at this thing logically? GM didn't want to fall on their face with this Upgrade on the Cobalt. They obviously found an area that could be improved for our car. If it took GMPP 5 months to design an intake that would work with the Turbo Upgrade on the Cobalt, I don't think I'd want to be the first kid on the block to start experimenting/trial and erroring with a new part at this stage. I'd wait till the Upgrade is out, installed and working first. Nobody even knows what the new part is all about. The aftermarketers have all been having a hard time getting an intake to work with very different opinions/theories from different sources. The old saying is "if it ain't broke don't fix it". I think this is especially true in this case. Personally? I'm going to keep it in my pants for a while till I see the results of GMPP efforts.

I get what your saying and I am probably one of the most logic person you will meet.
It has been said that NEW sensors are coming out and other parts of the tubing to the turbo. SO with that being said most aftermarketers have made them for the current setup, and if the new sensors<-- plural means where will the other sensor go, then it would not be usefull unless you want to wait for a new fitting or what ever remedy they have...... I could be wrong but from everything I gathered it includes a decent amount if items, couple sensors at that.
But I could be wrong.
k heres one post.
I wonder if the GMPP kit will take after an aftermarket tune. Some one that would have lets say a Trifecta tune , then does the GM upgrade. I dont see why it wouldnt , but for some reason that is really the only thing that concerns me about getting a tune now.

yeah, if you check out GMroadsters.com you will see that the solstice and skys dyno about 275whp STOCK with the GM kit, with basic bolt-ons around 300whp... with a tune/bolt-ons/LNF upgrade about 320whp...
so really, no more than with a tune and bolt-ons without the kit... the only difference is, they have the correct sensors to be running 22-24psi with the kit
you'll see about a 30whp upgrade with the kit, and because of the learn down feature being removed, 300whp with bolt-ons with the kit is realistic...
and in theory, because of lack of drivetrain loss, the Cobalts SHOULD dyno a little higher

cool.
But I was more concerned with how the car will take the GM upgrade, if I already had a Trifecta tune on the car. I understand the tune after the GM kit, but does the car have any problems accepting the GM kit if it has already been flashed by another brand?

The GM Turbo Upgrade isn't just a "flash" or reprogram, it'a an entirely new operating system. If I understand the term "operating system" correctly you might have a problem with someone elses program as the new OS might not read it the same way. I haven't seen anything on this subject here on CobaltSS.net. But having given up rocket science a long time ago to become a truck driver, I might be wrong. It's something to ask more questions about before doing something expensive.
Hell you could have given him a fraction and that would have been bad enough.
Sorry, but that statement means practically nothing at this point. Too many people have relatives, friends, etc in GM that all say different things. Unless you can back it up with some credible proof, nothing is certain and thus pointless to post about. No offense.
well at least we only have to wait until friday to prove that one wrong.
But if you can't find one when they come out, I'm working on trying to get a good stock, so PM me.
Where's the CED list? There were like 30 of us on there. They posted a link to the news release, but other than that, nothing. I'd like to hear from them what they've heard. If we don't hear something from them soon and somebody else starts getting the kits, they may see their list evaporate.
