this thread is making me crack up.

I took my car in the other day for a turn signal stalk problem as it got stuck down. They voided my warranty for replacing it since they stated that the tree air freshener caused the problem.

They also voided my warranty on the paint bc I waxed the car myself with non-gm approved wax.

My dash has a crack on it and they voided it due to armor all.

They also voided the dip on the leather steering wheel bc they said I was holding it too tight going around a corner at which they then told me my suspension, brakes and tire warranty was gone as well since I like to turn fast.

Go figure.

Unbelievable!!! All the comedians out of work in this country, due to there being nothing to laugh at anymore, and you guy's are trying out for the gong show. It must have something to do with the average age of a Cobalt SS/TC owner.

If anybody wants to be serious for a minute let's chat about all the talk earlier in this thread aboiut data recorders? IF you can read, open your owners manual to the index in the back (the list of subjects contained in the publication) and look for "Event Data Recorders". In my manual it is found on page 7-17. Read the entire page and be forewarned. Big brother IS watching. And the dealers CAN read all this data. Read between the lines.

As for the warranty questions? FACT! The Osama Obama administration has several billion dollars of taxpayer money set aside to GUARANTEE Government Motors vehicles. When the program is fully implimented warranty work should be so easy to get even a Caveman, or Democrat, can do it. It won't cost the dealership anything so what should they care who pays? The taxpayer living next door to you will help you pay.

^^ just like your occupation - let's talk about age buddy.

I'll put it I'm older than most in here. Is it a crime to not make the most out of something that is completely nothing?

Did this guy really get bent out of shape over us having some fun? I don't think age has anything to do with having fun. If you're reading the forum and take that **** seriously and somehow hold it against GM that apparently they don't allow panties to be hung from the mirror, maybe you shouldn't be driving at all. I'm sure the sarcasm/exageration/bullshit is easier to pick up in those posts than to figure out which pedal is the brake and which is the accel. So just take it easy pal, we're just havin some good old fashion fun.

Last 3 pages are epic funny! I have to say I'm lucky, my GMPP dealership has a great guy there who I talk to regularly, he basically told me that any aftermarket mods I want to do, if I come to him and have them do the work for me he'll make sure it won't void my warranty, and he'll set me up with good technicians (not necessarily the guys from the dealership) to do the work/tune/whatev.
Granted, I know that it would be much cheaper for me to do the work myself, and I'd certainly learn about my car in the process, but I'm happy with having my warranty not voided. Last time we talked, I mentioned an Injen CAI, the stage kit, pushing my turbo to 20psi, and a performance tune, and he said that when the stage kit comes out, if I bring in the CAI from Injen he would get it all installed and tuned for me and keep my warranty.
So, now I have some noob questions, if anybody feels like answering. Why 60#/Whatever# fuel injectors? What does this do for you compared to the stockers? Does it just allow for higher amounts of fuel to take advantage of the better airflow from aftermarket airflow mods?
Also, I know this is the wrong forum, but SRI or CAI? I've read that a CAI is useless on a turbo'd car because the air gets heated anyways, so you might as well get an SRI? Does anybody have actual numbers from a dyno test? I really like the look of the Injen CAI, and want to get one, but if I'd get more power from an SRI, then I'd rather just do that...thoughts?

Recently, there's been some of us getting together about this topic. Here is the thread:
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lnf-performance-tech-153/anyone-have-hp-tuners-scan-log-aem-intake-177107/

Right now, it looks like many of the CAIs and the Dejon SRI are suffering from MAF issues right now, causing LTFT issues. The jury is still out on AEM as of now I think, and we're also waiting on somebody to get CIA's CAI and SRI to test/compare.

Sorry for breaking up your fun or offending anyone. The primary purpose of my post was to offer some insight into some comments made earlier in the forum. But at 65 I'm more accustomed to associating with responsible adults who would rather carry on an intelligent conversation on a forum called "LNF Performance Tech". I noticed you only picked up on my criticism of the conversation and NOT the the reply to the subject of several posters earlier on the forum. You are more interested in your jokes than factual information. In the future I'll have to remember to lower my expectations of constructive conversation. Guess you just don't understand MY form of sarcastic criticism. Oh well. At least I got a good laugh, except it wasn't WITH you it was AT you. See! I enjoy a good joke too. Ocassionally.

I agree with you man. This is a thead about the LNF Stage kit and people are talking like it's the lounge or something....

Let's get back on topic - or at least try to.

And BTW, I don't believe the 3 more months story for a second. Delay? Maybe. 3 months? Hell no.

wahhh, stop being funny, wahhhh, big brother is watching.. wahhh...

Without the stage kit being released what did you think would happen to this post? Take your whining out on GM... they are the ones who botched the release date.... had the kit been out months ago, we would have something worth while to talk about.
And thanks for the repost on the black box info.

your supposed to flash it with the stock map if you need work done in case the dealer flashes over your performance map. That would cause a problem with your cortex.

Im sure if they busted out the tech2 for a major engine or driveline failure you would be SOL. I purchased a 2nd ecu and tuned that one, so my original ecu will go in to insure no monkey business when i go in for routine maintanance.

At least big brother finally laughed, not at our jokes but at us. So big ups to big brother for cheering up.

Super is right, if this **** was out we wouldn't have to make up bullshit stories to entertain ourselves; We would be discussing how awesome the extra power is. But in the meantime, we have nothing to talk about.

Do I go and buy an SRI? We don't even know what's coming in the GM kit, will it have intake? Who knows, if you want to play it safe like I do and not void my warranty for reasons other than panties hanging from my mirror, then I really have nothing to talk about on this forum until they give a concrete date and a concrete list of what will be in the package.

Can you understand where the boredom kicks in now? It's not even anticipation anymore, this thing is long overdue. I'm not tryin to be arrogant here either, just saying, it's GM's fault for not releasing this thing.

Maybe the key to all this is for all of us to write a letter to GM explaining that our forum has gone off topic because they have delayed the stage 2 for so long that people have nothing to talk about on the forum which talks about the stage 2. Then maybe they will put it out there faster? If anybody has any contact information to whoever is running this show, please feel free to post their information so we can get this straightened out.:twoth umbs
