Where is the GM stage kit?
well if they have them rdy for the other vehicles already, then i'm sure they have the cobalt stage kit sittin on the shelf somewhere. Which means in order to survive i think they will sell inventory and try to make a buck wherever they can, a.k.a gm tune. I wouldnt count what is already made' to be on hold.

I have an answer for you all! I talked to GMPD (General Motors Performance Division) today. There are some bugs with the tuning aspect of the upgrade for the cobalt's. They are currently finishing them up. They told me today to expect it by end of April early March. Hope this answers questions. They also told me range in price is around $650 but no guarantees.
Odds are looking very slim.

What would be the point? The real value in the GM stage kit is it's warranty backing. That basically goes right down the gutter even if the HHR kit did work. Might as well go aftermarket at that point.

I firmly believe it will still come out.
The development is already finished, this product is complete. Its a matter of getting the CARB certification back and they will be able to sell it.
There is no project here, the work is all but complete as I have said before. If they have already wasted man hours on FINISHING this kit, and it will sell, then there is absolutely no reason not to sell it. None at all.
Therefore I still believe it will come out.
If not no big deal, new ECU and aftermarket tune for me.

This announcement shows why GM is done for. Shortsighted leadership like this is what got them in trouble.
Where does the development stem from? A lot of GM's advances over the last decade have come directly from the performance division.
A lot of people buy cars that are lower models because they cant afford the high end "SS" or whatever model, and wish they had one
.
This is a horrible decision on their part, very narrow minded.
Want to fix GM's problems? Get rid of the upper management. They are the same ones that decided that customers wanted bland cars that were cheaper than the imports, at the expense of quality. They are the same people that thought it was a good idea to create one shared platform, slap different colors on it and a few different badges and call it different.
The union sure isn't helping here either. Congratulations, you negotiated keeping your current benefits and pay at the expense of your job. Nice going there.
As for this kit? Wouldn't surprise me after putting so much money into developing it, getting it certified, etc, and GM would shelve it now. Why not? They are making much worse decisions a lot higher up than a simple performance kit. I hope we still see it, but the pessimist in me says its time for aftermarket tunes and goodbye warranty.

its not a true 3 bar map though, its a capping sensor. when 255kpa is exceeded it caps the signal so thats all the computer sees, but once 3 bar is exceeded then it is designed to stop capping letting you know its at the limit.
a true 3 bar would show kpa increase all the way until 3 bar is reached.
just a fact no fights intended
i scoped the signal of the sensor part number from the solstice kit, the soltice sensors are transfering to to coblats like they did the hhr.

Looks like the Cobalt SS is safe for the life of the Cobalt nameplate...also...this leads me to believe that the performance kit is still on...

interesting. I really can't see GM putting all that time into something then scratching it in the last 2 months. I think the stage kit is still on.
haha I dunno man. We've been waiting an awful long time for this kit. Don't get me wrong the car hasn't been out that long but they have been promising this kit for a while. Usually when you hear about a manufacterer performance kit it is ready and hitting the dealerships pronto. This seems like a win/win situation for GM. like $600-$700 or whatever it is for just some sensors and an intake. That sounds like almost pure profit, but then again you just never know these days. GM seems to be having more problems than I thought.
Well the current kit is ~650 MSRP for 2 sensors, bolt, o-ring, and 2 pigtails. $650 for those parts is a joke when compared to how much they actually cost GM, but when you take into account the time it took to pay the engineers to develop the newer calibration, the cost to re-validate the engine to maintain warranty, and the cost to release the kit, the profit becomes much smaller.
