ZZP ported head/cams

Well im looking into puttin a little money into my car over winter and was thinkin of doing the zzp ported head with cams. Do you think this would be a good choice. I planned on doing valve springs anyways and i know i dont have the proper knowledge to do them so i would of shipped my head off anyway. If i didnt do this i would just send my head to get valve springs and retainers put in and maybe get it ported

Go for it. Up to 100hp increase when you're using a big turbo according to ZZP. Biggest prob is if you can't do valve springs how are you going to get the timing right on the engine? You're going to have to hire a reputable mechanic to put the head on for sure.

What do you mean knowledge? There is none. Just get a valve spring compressor, compress the springs, remove the keepers that hold the retainers in, and remove the valve springs. Reverse process for installing them....

Well, then this is your decision then, not someone else's. You decide on the steps you want to take. If you know someone who can do the timing right then go ahead and do it yourself. ZZP's head will probably be better for you though. I decided I wasn't going to get a ported head just because it wouldn't be worth the work since my power goals are only around 425-450whp. If I was shooting for 500whp maybe, but thats just stupid. I'd always have to run slicks.

full built motor, i mean you add a ported head and **** and start revving higher you're gonna be close to the breaking point on a bigger turbo imo

This bottom end is completely stock. Stock block(no girdle), stock crank, stock rods, stock pistons. It has ZZP S2 cams and ZZP valvesprings. The turbo setup is our normal LNF upgrade kit with a S259 extended tip turbo. The fuel system mods include our modified fuel pump cam lobes and our extra injector kit, as well as an in-tank pump upgrade. It is running on E85 from the local Mobil station.

the fully built motors are around 6k -7k cheapest with a ported head and cams already in it.

and the lnf is not timed exactly the same way. so dont try to do it like it was an lsj
