if its like the redline your going to have problems getting the puller to clear the alternator and tensioner. The SC is realy simple to take off. Its just 4 hex bolts. It will take 2 people to compress the new pulley on. Make sure your grease the sc shaft before putting the dub unit on.

Well I got the hub unit on the shaft tonight, going to put it back together tomorrow.

clownhair I didn't put any grease on the shaft of the supercharger but it went on pretty easily,
I didn't figure anything like that would need grease since it's not supposed to slip.

Got the pulley finally installed and the supercharger back on. I have noticed a difference in how fast the car makes the boost, but the guage doesn't read any higher than before. I am starting to doubt the gauge a bit, might look into a mechanical boost gauge.

I think the computer is still bleeding off at it's normal limit. It will make boost faster because it's a smaller pulley but you still won't make 14 psi because of the PCM.

yeah the electronic boost guage is going to need to be replaced. You are definately hitting higher boost now. Spend 50 bucks on a guage and tell us what it says.

nope it will make 14 psi there has been a confirmed issue with the CSS guages not reading higher than 12 psi.

Oh ok, it's just the gauge that wont read that high then. I did read that the gauge was also limited by the PCM which would make a mechanical gauge a better choice for accuracy.

I just got my manual today and the 1724 gray circuit goes into ground. So how is grounding a circuit at WOT keeping the bypass closed?

I am confused ... Is the ground on that circuit switched ?

Good question, I would imagine that the switch opens the connection to the ground which disables the circuit. However, the switch has it's own ground.. so isn't that redundant? lol I'm confused. I need to see a diagram.

the circuit goes into the PCM and the PCM must unground or disable the circuit to bleed of boost.

So when the circuit is closed or enabled is when the bpv allows boost?

That makes sence then, the switch just ensures a ground.

Please check out my post in this thread https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ed=1#post54045

It does what you guys are looking for, but without the ill side effect of having to "trick the pcm" It's honestly the way the system should work, but car companies are trying to make cars idiot proof against breakage. I'm sorry but if they design somthing to cut the boost if it detects drivetrain abuse, it has to be bypassed if you want to race and have fun. I will be doing what I explain in the post sometime this week. I KNOW it will work, and I'll ease everyones mind about it in a week or 2.
