drop your tire pressure to 23-25psi, and reduce boost in 1st gear to @70% (test it out btwn runs) and you should be able to get it better. My friend pulled a 2.0 60' on stock tires, so it can be done. (not saying I did though, I managed a best of 2.1 on stock tires)
Thanks for the info man, i'm going to try these new 16's out and they should grip better than my POS p-zero's that are pretty bald lol

Unfortunately I can't pull out any boost in 1st gear due to the fact that i'm running the boost bypass mod. It's the only way I can get the car to hold boost to redline... I tried all the pcm stuff the get it to hold and nothing worked. I'm thinking the bypass is bad...

I have my old setup for sale. Worked fine and held 21 psi. Don't use the bypass solonoid (which is probably what went) so if you need it let me know

Boost levels drop due to the larger engine BUT it makes the same hp if not more then the 2.0 does and it makes more tq then a 2.0 running a stage 2 kit. I'm not knocking the 2.0 but remember thers NO replacement for displacment.

There is a replacement for displacement, it's called NOS!

And we can spray our 2.4's too ya know. You may get more rpm out of your 2.0's but sorry guys when the same technology is applied to a larger engine it will always make more power. You know the laws of physics and all

As for NO 2.4 are in the 400 hp range I would invite you to call HAHN and see what he has to say on the topic. After his laughter dies down I'm sure he can clear that up for you.

Also lets not forget the 2.4 N/A in Import Turner that girl runs at the track (can't remember her name now) that makes over 400 WHP and its N/A! As in NO BOOST!

Now I know your 2.0's can make gobs of power but don't be so narrow minded to think our 2.4's can't. One day one might just surprise you at a red light.

No disrespect, but drop it everyone...

This is Paul's thread about his turbo, not a thread comparing LSJ's to LE5's. Go start your own thread if you want to debate that.

Anywho, Paul, are you going to be tuning it w/ the Meth right away?

nah holding off on the meth until I get everything dialed in, then I'll up the boost, add the meth, and hang on lol.

and yes please stop the bickering guys. I have not seen one damn thread on this forum where people didn't start bullshit arguments that got nothing to do with the thread. so please if you need to argue, do it elsewhere.
thanks for stopping by

That's awesome...You and I are true proof that our stock clutches can hold up. Mine has 26K and climbing, and I took her to the track on Tuesday and got two runs in. Axles will be my next big mod though...

Question for paul:
hey man I havent posted on here in a while because I am in the same process as your in, finishing up my custom turbo kit, looks pretty similar to mine. Anyways are you running stock internals? If so, how are they holding up and do you think they will last for awhile under the high compression? Also I dont know if you will know this but if I have say a Gt3071r turbo or something like it, can I just order the cobalt addiction kit w/o the turbo and just slap mine on their? Next, what are your other mods that your running with this setup, and can you pm me some of your tuning secrets for this setup cause thats where im having trouble. Also around what number will you be shooting for on this base kit? my custom one made 326whp on a safe tune and relatively low boost.
Thanks for the info.

I always thought so but never bothered to ask if it was larger.

If you are wanting to use the twinscroll GT3071R that I posted a link to, you will need a twin scroll manifold to make it useful. (you would need to pair cylinders 1&4 and 2&3) Not sure if the flanges will line up, and the piping may be off because the larger turbo dimensions. I'm not that informed about turbos, but those are things that popped into my head for concerns.

Sweet looking setup. I know it has probably been said before but what size turbo are you running? I am gonna be using a GT2871 for my setup. Internal or External gate?
