Thanks CBodnar, I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear while reading your post. Sick nasty times, sick nasty driver. LOL. I'm hoping I can pull 12's easily with the new set up. I don't forsee it being a problem.

you are for sure going to pull a 12 even if it takes a couple times i know you will. you understand how to drive and have gotten nice goals with your mod's. clearly know how to drive your car. again sickk nasty driver. that is what people call me around my area. i beat my friends v8 trans am when i was stock by 1-1/2 cars or 2 from a stop more than a couple times. i got the vids if u want to see on my streetfire account. also a v8 mustang geared beat from a stop when i was gm stage 2. it is all about just watching the person from a stop and keeping up with them tieing if not slowly pulling and no spinning the tires. also recently w/o nitrous beat my friends 300whp + srt-4. he spun through 1st 2nd and 3rd and once he finally started getting grip he started to pull up. it was really funny it was like 0-90ish mph dash ha

So, if we want to eliminate heat or restriction from the system, can I get a brake down of where it happens, and how best to eliminate it? Here is my guess:

*Supercharger Itself:
-"Proper" Porting
-Meth Injection

*Intake Manifold:
-Coolant: Dual Pass, Heat Exchanger, More Fluid, etc...
-Manifold Architecture: Port & Reroute coolant (Complete Single Pass) OR Redesign (a la RAW intake mani)

Anything else? Is the head itself a cause of heat / restriction, or if the S/C and manifold are dealt with, does the head still create enough of a problem to have to deal with?

the main cork on the LSJ is the exhaust port...the main handicap is heat....there is a delta point that says smaller pulley creates so much heat that gains are just not there...check out area47 ' s posts...

search for intake manifold pictures on the site. i bet thats the worst restriction on the entire car.... raw did a good port job on a stock head and came up with 50whp... i still bet more power is sitting in that intake manifold, but what do i know?

very interested in seeing what you dyno at with those mods and what kind of times you run. You'll hit your hp goal for sure and with your driving skills we should see some 12 second passes soon.

True, but I'm note concerned about small pulleys. I'm concerned about making the system as efficient as possible. I guess the RAW intake manifold is the best bet so far. I'll be wanting to see how people make out with manifold mods.

RAW won't produce that, and if they do it will fail. Just like the TS project.

I'm more talking about the company itself. I think eventually some company will come up with a better design, but until then, OTT performance has the best idea with their ported version and dual pass setup.

glad to "open your eyes."

Stay tuned for some track times and some dyno runs. Now that I have a pimp ass camera, (see theflip.com) I'll be able to make some really good vids of track and dyno runs and edit the videos with music and such and slow the camera down on the burnout and what not. It'll be video's worth watching and should make the cobalt community proud.

bump to see updates on the 2.9, ported head, intake manifold and headerr results when you get them done. I am thinking of doing the same thing with possibly adding some forged pistons witha higher cr for a little more power, and some added safety if I want to run nitrous later on.

I just got back into Omaha this morning. I'm enjoying seeing my family right now, along with beating that poon up, and I'll start working on the car this week. First thing I'm doing is going to the exhaust shop and having them make that downpipe. Then I'll park the car at the house and get to work pulling the supercharger/intake manifold/header off and porting the head along with getting the machine work done to the IM and swapping the 2.9 pulley on. I should be able to get tuned next weekend.

Welcome back then! must feel nice to be back home. Keep us updated on the car, I'm sure you'll get the results your looking for. Cant wait to see what kind of #'s it puts down at the dyno and at the track.

upload to veoh.com excellent quality, doesn't compress the videos at all.
