And no one really answered your question.

The link in that thread covers everything you will ever need to know about different ethanol blends with different boost levels, CR and VVT.

BASICALLY. They did not find an increase in HP and benefits to justify the loss of fuel economy over by running anything more then a 50/50 blend. The testing was done in a controlled environment on a LNF.

On an LSJ there might be some benefits to running an E50-E70 mix because of the extra heat. I personally have not noticed any loss of knock resistance going from a summer E85 to winter E70 mix on my 2.6" M62 setup. I wish they would run E70 all year long.

Tell Kendall that EB says what's up!

Seriously, why are people so afraid of the 2.6??? It's NOT a bad pulley and I have run that on my car for the majority of it's life. Yes it is "out of efficiency" but so is any pulley below a 3.0". I've had the best results out of my car running a 2.6 with straight E85. Then again, my IAT's have always been lower than the average car and my stock clutch is STILL hanging on at 92,230 miles. Guess my car is a freak.

But back to my point. There is no need to be afraid to run a 2.6 pulley. Properly tune it and it will be just fine.

I'm not afraid of running the 2.6. I just wanted to know if running e85 straight had any benefit over a 50/50 blend.

The 2.6 comments were not directed at the OP. Yes, there are benefits to running straight E85.
