Yeah that may be our best bet. I would do it, but the nearest dyno is 6 hours away

well, you'll have to use my catless 2.5" downpipe as it's welded to the header.

Day by day, this site is having more and more problems. I will try to get things updated today, since I couldn't do it yesterday.

Ok, I was just wondering since I haven't heard anything or received any notices from the shipping companies.

i have the CTI header/downpipe.

all i can say is don't even waste your time on it if you do get your hands on one. the build quality is the worst i have ever seen

I had their downpipe, and during one of my power runs, it went from a 3" downpipe to a 3" metallic chinese finger trap. I had the pics up at one time. Plus the cat broke up so I had to knock it out.

I've already got someone that wants to put it on his vehicle. It's a HHR/SC.

Well **** then

at the very least, you've encouraged me to get rid of the CTI header and toss the stock shorty back on. Good to see it's designed well and i'll go ahead and assume it's better for the car than the header i have now.. considering it leaks like a bitch for the first 20 minutes of driving.

I'll be keeping the 3" downpipe, just because it has my wideband bung on it

The stock header is made better than most think. Plus since it's so thick, a lot of the noise that gets through stainless isn't there. GM did make something right. For once.

This is true. GM is not as big of a **** up as everything thinks.

I have to agree with opi on that though. I've never seen a dp blow half of the cat and collapse like that before...

Here we go again indeed

just doing my part in steering people away from a craptastic product. It's what forums are for, right?

Pulled my stock header out of storage and I'm cleaning it up now. Thanks for all the hard work Death. I had it pretty much drilled in my head that stock = bad, go aftermarket.

Not a fan of the stock downpipe though... just seems too damn small. Even the dealer mentioned that when I blew my cat out and they replaced it. Told me that's the first thing I should do is get a new downpipe.

I will admit, never had a problem with the downpipe, but I plan to never go past 260whp, so it's staying.

There's no way I was going to run the stock dp on here. I don't even know where mine is.

The downpipe I can kind of agree with. What I saw with the vibrant is that the smaller dp can't keep up with the movement of air that a 3" can at my level. I'm starting to believe that the dp has somewhat more of an effect when it comes to moving a lot of air. Obviously it all has to play a part, but something like the vibrant setup would be good for yours. The header flows well, and you won't be pushing that much air where it will have trouble keeping up.

This is the comparison between the vibrant runs on mine.

I can draft up a comparison between the vibrant and stock on request. I believe that the downpipe is the cause of the lower numbers. At about 4500 rpm, that's where the separation starts between the vibrant and stock. The climb is progressive just not as high. We think another two degrees of timing would have made up the difference.

Here's a couple of videos for you.
Me talking as usual...

and the second run on the dyno.

believe me, if I could go back in time, I would of bought the vibrant in the first place. Only reason I went CTI was because I was trying to support OTTP and give small vendors a chance. Big mistake on my part

i'm really interested in the ZZP though. I'll probably never buy their combo (i'm done buying new parts for the car as it stands) but I'm just really curious to see how your numbers compare to theirs.
