Don't plug the s/c holes. It is not worth the risk imo at all.

hey LSJwannabe, will the cost of your stage kit be the same if I didn't need a tune from you?

I agree. I would rather my car not sound as "cool" than have quicksteel flying around in my engine

I've had my holes plugged for 30kmi of semi-hard abuse. No problems here! And wtf are you talking about? Quicksteel would sound freakin' sweet flying around in my engine.

you might not be able to hear much of the supercharger...even though i can hear both with my OTT stage 1 and full exhaust. it's not worth taking off they exhaust because YOU can't hear the supercharger. the performance gain and overall sound is worth it. plus...you can hear the super from the outside...which i think is much more important. I know what i sound like...and i want other people to hear it too. It's funny when i watch vids of me racing. when i'm coming towards the camera, all you hear is supercharger. after i pass the camera..all you hear is exhaust...it's pretty cool.

im the only one that drives it lol, so I honestly dont know how it sounds to be next to me..will have to find out.

Yeah, im not going to plug the holes. When I can find someone with the tools to install it, ill get the OTTP stage kit.

i have a pacesetter header, no cat, stock exhaust till the rear axle then new piping and flowmaster 40 series, needless to say its loud. with just a gmpp stage 2 kit , silencer holes filled and air box mod with k&n you can hear the whine over the exhaust.

and i used jb weld on the plugs, its been going about 10k miles now ans still in place.
i understand not wanting to do something your not sure of, and thats a good way to go about things.
you should join a car club, or meet up with some cobalt owners in your area , to help in the process of modding your car, you can save so much money by DIY ,and its more gratifying.

It is simple, but its also easy enough to screw up. Im just going with what i feel about it which is pretty inline with a couple techs at eaton.

isnt there a thread on here that says the plugging the holes has no efftect of the superchagred, its only to make them quite. I do understand people have diffrent view/ideas so ill leave this alone on a peaceful note lol.

eaton has directly stated that it improves efficiency of the supercharger, however it is a marginal unnoticeable gain in efficiency, so yes..most of us do it for the sound
