No one can really pin point it to it being a crappy clutch, but the fact is that in a front wheel drive car there is no good reason why the clutch should slip when hard shifting into second. I would understand if it was RWD and I was pulling a wheelee, but come on. Oh well enough of that already, I think we've highjacked the thread enough for one day.

"You can smoke the tires...." You can't smoke the tires in the SS/SC if you try you will get wheel hop.

So to mitigate wheel hop you need to slip the clutch, that causes the problem.

Get some solid suspension and motor mounts and you can smoke the tires till they are gone and your clutch will be fine....

it's pretty easy not to get wheel hop. just ease into the clutch instead of dumping it, and don't do it WOT, go about half throttle up to 5k or so, then shift into second and go WOT and viola... no wheel hop.

I'm leaning towards seeing if my buddy at GM can get me the reflash and I'll just get an Intense Kit. Seems like if its the same reflash for st1 and st2 we are getting hosed on the price. Plus I know everyone at my dealer and they turn their heads when it comes to warranty issues even with aftermarket parts for me. Going to wait for some Dyno results first, but as I see it isn't really looking good for the GM st2 kit. Think it's been more hype then what is actually out there for aftermarket now. I mean Intense gives you better injectors, smaller pulley, spark plugs (not in GM kit) so is all this hype just for the reflash?? Seems like if someone can get the reflash from somewhere then this whole "Yeah! The GM kits are out" just seems over rated.

any time you engage the clutch, technically it's "slipping". just don't drop the clutch is what i'm saying, ease into the power and you won't get wheelhop

lol, great minds think alike sinister. I emailed my guy and he told me that cheryl would get back to me on it. She sent me this:

"The Stage 2+ Kit is a developmental program we've been testing that goes
beyond Stage 2...at this time we're not ready to divulge any other details,
but when we are, you bet you'll hear us talking about it."

I guess I will have to try doing this. I was going to bring the Tech 2 home tonight, but I have to sign it out and everyone already left.
Look at it this way; My fuel cut off , in nuetral, was at exactly on the redline. Now reving in neutral, it hits 7k. While driving I looked down when I felt the cut off and the needle was between 6750 and 7k. SO, according to my tach I gained about 500 rpm. Wether IT is true 7k or not.

Some other info; The boost gauge jumps right up to 12.5 psi when jumping on it in the lower RPM. Where as before only reached 10psi. My gauge read slightly over 15psi. in 3rd at 6- 6.5k. Before my psi would max at 12.5 even.
