depending what size pulley you are running with, but 15 sounds right if you're running a 3.0 or 2.9 pulley.

My stage 2 is going in this morning. I'm substituting a ZZP 2.8 for the GM pulley.
I think I should wind up with about 16-17 PSI. Might get lucky and get 17.5 as long as
the stage 2 belt doesn't slip.

well stock pulley is 3.3 so you went down .3, so i dont know 14-15psi sounds right for that since we are stock at 12psi. I have a 2.6 pulley and im at 19-20psi. So sounds right man.

if your belt is slipping get the oversized idler pulley to go with it for 19.99 it will help eliminate all slip. You can get it at intense or you can get something like it at murrays for a grand prix. It's the same thing.

the reason alot of people are gettin those high psi numbers are because they dont have a full exhaust which has alot to do with.

Sorry for your friend. Hopefully I won't suffer his fate as I don't beat on my car (i.e. run to redline everytime I get on it). I have tuners nearby so I can get it changed if I need to or I can go back to the S2 pulley if it starts acting up. Either way, I got lucky and got one of the 'good' Cobalts. You know? The ones that never have to go in for the multitude of standard issue problems? I thought I had some early on but I was wrong.

Didn't mean for you to get upset and have to discuss it

What was your point in this? That a full exhaust would make it lower PSI? Just Wondering

I Have A Full Vibrant Exhaust, Header Downpipe And 3" Straight-through Cat-back Stainless. I Still Get Those Numbers. An Exhaust Will Not Drop Your Boost. It Lets The Engine Breathe More, Makes The Charger Work A Little More, But Wont Drop Boost

Yeah I know but 2fastSS said that they were getting that high because they didnt have the new exhaust thats why i was asking.

Oo Ok, I See Now, Yes, If You Dont Let The Engine Breathe, It Wont Get Numbers That High, When You Put An Exhaust On, It Should Raise The Boost By About 0.5psi Or So

how does adding a exhaust add boost?? LOL are you serious? My point is 3 inch catless downpipe, exhaust, and 4-1 headers me and my friend both experience loss of boost you wont gain boost

Most everyone says 2.9 is safe. Some people say 2.8 is ok too as well as not ok. I'm gambling the 2.8 is ok for ME. My GM service department here seems to think it should be fine as well. They haven't lied to me yet and are very upfront.

i think he was referring to the boost increasing or staying the same.

Look at it like this.. Blow into a bottle.. You can put x amount of pressure into it. Pop a hole in that bottle and you will have to work harder to maintain that pressure. That's what he meant by the charger having to work harder to maintain/increase the pressure. No hole in the bottle and you're just blowing to be blowing.

you guys obviously havent done your research. oping up you exhaust system will drop your boost. with an intake and exhaust your motor will breathe much better, therefore putting LESS stress on your blower. Think of it this way, someone has their hands around your neck hard to breathe right? they let go you breathe more. And to answer your question about what size pulley i would run. i see your in NC im in VA so altitude is about the same. I wouldnt go lower than a 2.85 on the stage tune.
