Question Idle & Boost Problems? Anyone else???

So I've given it a bit of time. I picked up my SS SC at the end of November.

(I have 3600 KM's on it btw)

Here are the problems.

Thus far I have not been able to get past 8-9 PSI this kills me, I can't describe how upsetting it is to buy a performance car and be losing a significant amount of performance, though I am trying to be patient. Someone told me the first time they dinged it off 12psi was at 3000 miles so about 4500 kms. I'm not even close at 8psi. What is going on?

Am I going to have a hard time if i go to the dealer? Should I? Is there something I'm not doing? I mean im maxing out and believe me, I am pushing her WOT and really getting up there.

Also, I often find that when I'm in neutral I don't get a steady idle, it fluctuates up and down, this has actually caused me to stall a few times when backing up since its tricky to make fine adjustments on the clutch when your engine is idling up and down slightly as you back up.

Any suggestions? Anyone have common problems that they fixed etc? Thanks!!!

Yep, stock boost gauge. Do you think it is the gauge? I mean other people on the same gauge are getting higher readings so I'd imagine it is all relative right?

I don't really know what elevation means in this situation :S sry.

i'd say take it to the dealer and scan the PCM see if they find any thing...the dealer schould be more than willing to work with you

Are you at sea level or at 5,000 ft in the mountains. How high are you from sea level?

Well it says he's in Ottawa. I found it to be like 374 feet. He should be getting the 12.5 psi. Probably needs to get the boost gauge recalibrated.

a while ago a couple other people had this problem, they took it to the dealership and i think if i remember correctly they fixed a screw on the bypass valve and reflashed the pcm, also your altitude greatly effects this problem i live in palm beach and sometimes i can boost around almost 14 w/ an intake and exhaust the idle probllem is common blame the drive by wire system for that, or praise it b/c it is used for throttle control on jet airplanes.

I read 90 to a 100. Idle issue is normal. Unless it stalls then you need an update.

I will mention that. I just hope I don't get idiots who argue with me or tell me 'ahhh man don't worry the car is fine'

Seems everything is always fine when it is under warranty but nothing is right when you have to pay for it.

You people with the idle problem, go to the dealer and say "I heard there is an updated flash for my car to fix a problem with idle surge"
They'll take your car for 60-90 minutes, flash it, and when you get it back it will be fixed. As for the only getting 8psi, i would say calibration too, but have them look at that also.
I hit 12.5 psi as soon as i left the dealership.....

edit:
I forget the link, but GM has a site where you enter your VIN and it gives you the PCM calibration info, and you can take that to the dealer (i did) and show them the line that addresses idle surge, that way they know exactly what to ask when they call the techline about it
