issue need some input
i was driving home yesterday and I started getting the CEL flashing at me I knew that it was a misfire and I had no power so I pull over the car sounded like a wrx running. I thought well the plugs died I had a new set in the car so I put them in on the side of the road. I started it back up same thing its misfiring pretty bad so I got it towed to a buddies house were it is sitting right now. my question is we could it be a bad coil pack and how much do these run? we checked to make sure the fuel pump still coming on which it is. I plan on checking the fuel pressure tonight after I get off work. also I thought it could be a bad fuel injector "what is a good way to test these?" need some input to see if there is anything else I could look at the only CEL I'm getting is random misfire code p0300 that is it.

dude the coil packs run around 40-80 $ just where you get them, i ran into this probelm, i over revved and i fuc*ed all my lifters, if you were boosting more then likely could be something with the head or the block, check compression do a leak down test and go from there. and about your sig i have the same issue. ive put 14k in the car in a year and still adding lol.

yeah I'm just hoping it is something small. I don't want to take the motor out sooner then I planned to I wanted to get another year out of it before I rebuild it again.

just an update I checked the compression on all cylinders No pressure in #2 so the motor is coming out again. I put air to each cylinder and I was getting air return back up through all the others so I think when the people that did my motor work they screwed up with filing the rings to fit.
