the pop could be struts, mounts, bushings, intermediate steering shaft ( Chevy has had alot of issues with steering shafts on anything from cobalt's, monte's, impala's, malibu's, and full size trucks including suburban's. You can hear/feel a pop or clunk as you turn the wheel and when going over bumps. I have drove cars and replaced enough of these damn things lol )
The pulling could be from a bad suspension part, could need alignment, low tire pressure or a bad tire...could be radial pull, or some kind of issue with shifted belts in the tire

popping when turning is cv axle i thought. mine pops pretty much all the time. im ignoring it untill i got lke 2k to completely replace the front and rear suspension lol. i cant locate the problem so imma just replace everything. if the car isnt pulling(mine isnt) then its not entirely a big deal. like someone said the cold probably doesnt help. but maybe try takin the boots off and greasin up. or just check to see if they are ripped

This makes the most sense to me. I have had the same popping since early this summer and have been over everything except the steering shafts.

Bobbyhill sounds like he has experience fixing this issue.... it'll be the next thing I check into.
