Le Riceburners OFFICIAL Build Thread
I'm going back to southbend the weekend of feb the 8th. I can either send you the valve spring compressor then or me you and kyle, maybe ryan can meet up at bass pro to hang out and I could give it to you there
RB - You may want to consider injectors larger than 80#, will save you some trouble down the road when you ditch the m62. I'm bored with my build from last March already and have to upgrade to ID1K or FIC1200 when the TVS goes on, annoying.

My friend keeps bringing up new things for me to worry about.
If we pull the cam caps off of my existing head and swap em onto the new head, im gonna have to get those checked for clearance at a machine shop, he says. Or get new caps.
I keep saying according to you guys, many of which are either experts or atleast have been down the road of building an ecotec, are saying to reuse pretty much every stock component. But hes not convinced, and i simply dont know enough to inform him one way or the other. Anyway he gaurantees me if i just slap my cam caps onto the new head my motor will self destruct in less than 100 miles
P.s., my friend/s arent retards, they speak the motor language very fluently, but none have dealt with 4cyl ohc motors yet. Their into big v8 n20 power haha
Staged, i know you swapped cams onto your stock head and reused you cam caps no problem, and im quite sure you reused all your stock components on your new head, correct? Hockeyman, 574, what about you guys?

why would you use cam caps that did not belong to that head and yes they are right you will have to get the cam bores re line honed you always keep the caps and head as a matched set
Everyone always says to use the cam caps that came with that head.....
however, I know "someone" who didn't and they were perfectly fine.. cough cough. I'm NOT recommending you do this, or saying it WILL work. I'm just saying it's been done without problems.
If it worries you that much.. then take it to a machine shop and they'll get it all fixed yup
