Im looking for exhaust that is not so high pitched (Ricer) it seems like the GMPP and the Magnaflow have the lowest tone. Does this sound right to everyone else or am I not hearing the clips right. Of these two the GMPP and the Magnaflow what do you think sound less like rice but still flow nicely enough to free us some hp
ps i plan on doing front to back, header, cat, and cat-back i dont know if this will change anything

GM sells Corsa, so, any GMPP dealer can get it. You can always order it yourself.

The only problem with that is the parts numbers are not in the GM computers from what i have been told....

How do you know if a dealer is a GMPP dealer.

I know the dealer i talked to has the GMPP exhausts and header in their comp. But the parts numbers for the Corsas are only 5 digits and dont come up.

I actually like the sound of the GMPP setup myself. Good tone to it, and not the high pitched "lactose intolerant" sounds I hear out of a lot of 4 bangers. If it increases performace without sounding like rice, I'm all for it.

Hi all,

New to the boards obviously. Forgot to introduce myself.

My '98 Z28 LS1 6-spd finally died on me Sunday. Engine blew. Had 120k of "very" rough miles on it. I can't tell you how many times I smoked the tires on that thing. Very fast car...and usually underestimated by many at a light. Had a exhaust dump underneath, and k&n intake.

I went shopping around...and for the price vs. performance, its hard to beat the Cobalt SS S/C. I bought one. Picking it up today. Silver, performance package, sunroof etc. It's my first "new" car, so I decided to get it loaded.

I am already looking for mods. I know its not going to touch my old Z, but with intake/exhaust mods, I figure it might get it into the high 5's 0-60? What I don't want is the rice sound. Used to the 350 rumble/growl. I know I'll never get that with a 4-banger. But the GM exhaust kits look good. Just wondering if anyone knew what the difference was between the Pro series, and the Touring exhaust systems. I assume the touring will improve flow, but not be as loud as the Pro one? Any help would be appreciated.

I saw a post where it says one of the exhausts made 88dB and the other made 90dB. I've tried to find it again and have had no luck. I took pictures of the stock exhaust and the GMPP one I installed. I don't know what the difference between the 2 GMPP exhausts are though.....

performance = sport. sport is louder than touring. both have the same gains touring price is greater due to the different resonator used for the different sound....

Everyone with a GMP Exhaust ordered from gmpartsdirect.com, until recently the links to the sport and touring exhausts were mixed up. The part numbers to the exhaust packages did not match up to the actual detail of the package. For instance, the package with a 1 at the end was matched up with the touring link. Therefore, everyone that ordered one from gmpartdirect and ordered from the touring link, you actually bought the performance package, that is why the price was $410. I recently ordered my exhaust from them and made sure that I ordered the exhaust that ended in 110, this is the correct touring package number. I also emailed gmpartsdirect and confirmed this with them and they recently corrected their website links to match the correct part numbers. Thanks to crateenginedepot and other sites for helping me correctly order the correct part number for the touring exhaust. I hope that you are not to disappointed with your purchases. The touring runs $494 Doc not $410. Sorry bud, you actually got the sport GMP exhaust.

huh, I'm a little confused by your post. I ordered exhaust #17802111, I got the sport (performance) and it was the cheaper of the two....are you saying I ordered the touring..??
There wasn't a link for the exhaust when I ordered it, I had to type the number in to get mine....I ordered it in Dec.

DOES ANYBODY know if having the gmpp woith 2.25 will make a difference in hurting the car? cuz stock is 2.5 why would they make it 2.25? more torque? anyone know if they felt anything with it? anyone know if it will work witht he stage 1? properly? or will there be losses opposed to 2.5?

Stock is only 2.5 till it gets right before the muffler then it is 2.25. It will work fine with stage1. Now if you plan on adding more mods in the near future, you might want to consider a 2.5 system IMO. If you plan on just doing stage 1 and a smaller pulley the GMPP exhaust will be fine. I would have to say that most of us hear will not even mod these cars enough to go any bigger than that.

As far as i know the GMPP exhaust is set up like the stock one with just the one 2.25" section right before the muffler and the rest of the pipe 2.5". There is no reason they will reduce the entire pipe to 2.25". Doc has the exhaust and can verify this.

guys... we are talking about a CATBACK exhaust. the tubing gets smaller after the cat.

the gmpp exhaust does not go down to 2.25"... it is the same as stock. ... this was a stupid bump

I just got an exhaust mad for 196. It's 2.5 from the catback, no resonator, with a flowmaster 40 series. It is really loud.
