I agree with this. Jons 500 on stock block makes me feel way more confident about my block

E85 makes things a lot easier too. You have to do some pretty crazy **** to make it detonate. I'm excited for the new setup. Something tells me I'm going to need to rent a dyno to tune and that I won't get by with street tuning this time

Just get the 1000's and have a ton of headroom unless you do something ridiculous like us. I'm waiting to see where I hit the limit with the 1000's.

Lol yeah I'm on stock top and bottom . Figured 80's were enough for a while. Once I'm done with em I'll just throw em on my redline.

As long as the pump keeps up, 550ish.

Yeah the 1000's don't have a ton of room on the car as it is, they are over 80% at peak. If you kept the rpms down just a hair you could squeeze a little more maybe but with cams and 8000+ it will be just about all they can handle.

I have seen professional drag racers put a brand new turbo on an engine and make a pass 30 minutes later. I don't know the caliber of their balancing system but I doubt it's any better than a good reputable turbo manufacturer like Garret or the like.

With ball bearing cartridges, I doubt it matters much. They are built to withstand probably 20,000 RPMs more than you'll ever get close to so I doubt the threshold will be pushed even if you push 1.5 bar.

It's close to that but I politely disagree. We made 508 on Jon's car with 80's.
That said, in light of recent developments, I see no use for 1k's anymore. They're not much bigger than 80's anyway.

I see wat u saying. I work with truck turbos and those things are massive. All we do is put em on. Idle for 5 mins. Road test to push 47+ psi . Done. Just never dealt with a car and a turbo

80's are good to about 590. I Don't know why 1000's wouldn't be able to hold over 500.

cuz they are talking e85 Mark, the 80s run out and cant handle the flow necessary, on pump gas 80s should handle upper 500s

Hey guys. So update on my higher boost issue! Like I was saying last week, my exhaust manifold cracked up. Idk what kind it is actually. Looks decent, just welds cracked.

So I replaced with zzp Mani, new custom downpipe. And the car is so different. Builds boost very fast, so much torque now. I can't do 2nd gear pulls anymore without lighting them up. MBC backed all the way off runs 14psi(deltagate adjusted to 13psi).
The sputter thing is gone so that manifold must have been too restrictive. Its strange how different the car is now. Exhaust sounds amazing, super deep growl. Just need a retune
