So ever since I've put my TVS on I've been battling a belt squealing problem when the car is cold. Once it's warm it stops. I've checked to make sure the belt is on straight, changed the tensioner pulley and changed the belt. If I rub a little WD40 on the belt when it's running it will stop squealing for a few seconds but then come back. The new belt stopped the noise for about a week but now it's back. I got my TVS from OTTP with the pulley on. Perhaps it's possible the pulley is on backwards? Does someone have a pic of what the proper way to put the pulley on is? I'm running out of ideas!

FYI, when i went to get tuned with my TVS i started hearing a squeal. i checked to make sure it was on straight 3 or 4 times. went by the auto parts store with ATLsilverss in the car tuning it, bought some belt dressing and hosed it down. it quieted down for about a minute, then i took the car out to make a pull for the data log.

i hear the belt squeal really bad, then BAM! sounds like it popped off and hit my hood. i pulled over, and found that a small metal tab that is supposed to hold some metal tubing came off, and was digging into the belt and chewed off a rib of the belt.

i can take pics if ya need to show where that tab is.

I don't think there's anything chewing into my belt. The old one I took off looked fine but I changed it for the sake of it. And it only does it on initial start up. But if you got a pic i'll definitely check it. Ya never know right.

its because of the tension on the belt. 90% of the time when we have a squeal in the shop its always the belt they strech and make noise. If u can spray dressing or anything on the belt and it goes away its the belt, not a pulley. Get the over sized tensioner pulley from zzp or go to the parts store and buy the GTP tensioner pulley since its the same your noise will go away

But I replaced the belt. I don't think an oversized tensioner will work in combination with a 2.9" pulley and GMS2 belt.

No need to be a douche. How is a stock belt with oversized tensioner any different then running a GMS2 belt with stock tensioner.

Sorry you took offense to being called dummy. & aren't you complaining about a squealing sound? Change the tensioner and the belt and you'll kill 2 birds with 1 stone... dummy

Lol ok I don't think your 17 year old brain is grasping what I'm saying. I currently have a brand new shorter GMS2 belt with the stock tensioner. Please explain how the stock longer belt with an over sized tensioner is going to fix my problem.

wut were tryin to say is its prolly the pulley and not ur belt...u can either replace jus the pulley with another stock 1 from advanced auto or u can jus get the oversized pulley and put the stock belt back on..ur belt is most likely not the cause of the squeel

I replaced the tensioner pulley with a brand new one Stock size. Which i already stated. And it did the same thing. I just find it wierd that I ran both a 2.8" and 2.6" pulley with my M62 and had no issues. Bolt up my tvs and it happened instantly

Did it happen instantly after installing the TVS? or just sometime after the TVS? With your intelligence level, the 2nd tensioner you put on could have been installed wrong or something. Look into that. And why not just try a stock belt? What's it gonna hurt? But i'm 17..... what do i know

I'm gonna go get some new videos for War Stories Bye

It's the one last thing I haven't tried but I don't see how it's going to be any different. I've never had any issues till I bolted my TVS on.

I was on a 2.6" with my M62. I'm on a 2.9" with the tvs. Yup on meth. If you click under my user name you can see everything I'm running. But I'll try the stock belt with oversized tensioner for *****. Got nothing to lose. Thanks
