i could not get it in from underneath, had to go over the top with it.
i dont think you wold need to remove any catch cans or anything though...the opening is wider then the header

my catch can is mounted right in the back of the engine bay on that black piece of plastic with the weather stripping on it, it would be annoying to remove, probably with enough ground clearence, ie doing it on a lift, one could probably twist it in from the bottom, there is alot of space down there

physical difference, long tubes have about double the length of primaries, sometimes more. Shorties are obviously short. If you also look at the collector on this header, it is very similar to a burns which is a high dollar collector. Most shorties don't have that much attention put into the collector.

A shorty would be good at high end.. Yes, probably more efficient around or past 13,000 RPM, that your car will never see.
So no, essentially you want a longer tube header.

I'll put it like this....
Most people buy shortie headers because they are a cheaper alternative.
The people that do buy longtubes tend to have a decent amount of engine work done, and/or know what's best for their engine in how they are going to go about racing it.
