pick your tuner wisely
If you treat your car responsibly having it tuned isn't a issue.... End of story... This thread is full of misinformation and ******* people.. The thread name should be called "beware who you listen to" .

Believe what you want, but name calling and poor use of sentence structure really does turn people away. Regardless of the point. As "just a kid", I'm sure to be dismissed. 1 year of age makes a huge difference...
Anything I'd add could simply be quoted, as it's been iterated enough. Still, no one gets the points the experienced members are trying to make. John's title is right, choose your tuner wisely or learn on your own. If you use the resources available, anyone being smart about tuning their own car can make a reliable tune. Learning only gains more benefit
On a side note, I tuned my own lnf and have been driving it for nearly 35,000 miles, 12,000 of which are on a bigger turbo with no issues except some blown sensors, no compression loss and no transmission problems. It's all about being smart with your decision making and taking care of your car. If you hear a horror story, do some research and find out more. If you don't have the money, knowledge or experience to replace broken parts and don't want to take responsibility for what's being done to your car, don't try and make xxx whp to be the best evar and pioneer your own crazy part and tune strategies. People have already done the work for you and are willing to share their knowledge, some for free and some for a nominal fee.
Trifecta's infiniboost tune scorched a few rings in its day as well, but people still order vince's tunes.
Really all you can do is be careful and pay attention to what your car is telling you.
