I bought a spare engine from a rl forum member it came with the sc and evrything else. Be carefull I tried to go with extrudahone and the exhaust port is VERY close to a oil passage so then I went to patriot who does cnc porting for the pro cars. BTW SMS is hookin it up, Springs, titanium retainers, and I have a local cam grinder workin on the cams.

It took me almost six months to find a doner. The source I have may have some more heads coming, we are thinking about setting up a head program (exchange) BTW I used to work in a machine shop in the head department...

Wow interesting, from what I've seen the exhaust ports seem to be pretty restrictive, does the oil passage limit the amount of porting to a small portion? Or is it even safe to do some work on the port at all? Patriot does some good work, I've got a few buddies w/ heads from them on their ls1's and mustangs. Are the springs and retainers available for anyone? Or are they custom making them for you? I'm to go the same route, build up the bottom end and valvetrain before anything else. I contacted diamond about forged pistons a few days ago, but have not heard a response yet.

I imagine that since ZZP is getting into cobalts that they will start porting the M62's. They already do work with the M90's so they can probably transfer most of that R&D over.

yes all the stuff I am doing is availabe to anyone. I am working with SMS for the discount thats all. BTW nobody will have rods available they can be made but they want a huge order so what I did is buy the eagle 2.2 rods which are a different length and had cp pistons compensate the wrist pin hiegth. Since the crank is the same journal size. The valve springs that I am using are ferrea's in the high seat pressure with theyre seat and titanium retainers .
