think way back to the first eaton supercharged vehicle that came from the factory, the 89 thunderbird supercoupe. 3.8l v6 with a gen 1 eaton m90, air to air intercooled.

That's the one. I'm not going to spend all day researching to see if the air/air on this setup was efficient.

How cool would something like that look sticking out of a cobalt hood lol. By the looks of it not a whole lot of wasted volume between the SC and the Head, which to me is the big issue of using our stock IM in any air to air setup.

Sweet: http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f172...ff-msrp-98826/

Meth, when are you gonna show off the revised IM? I'd like to see the difference in IATs with a less restrictive core, it may even get hotter if I imagine it correctly though boost should rise and a larger pulley could be run for the same power. Any results?

That elise engine also has a 11.5 compression ratio. You wouldn't want any more boost. There are probably many reasons why air/air is a better option on that car. Weight, just a IC and some piping versus 2 cores, a pump, hoses and fluid. Simplicity. Not having some shitty failure of engineering manifold with no intake runner whatsoever, etc.

So I finally got a video of the AITs on the car. At the start I show that AIT1 is 57* and AIT2 is 80* which is actually a little off balance but I wanted people to be sure the car was warmed up and I didn't fire it up cold and hog on it to get the coolest temp I could. I do two runs, 1st through 3rd back to back and actually on the start of the second run the AIT2 is lower then the first because the car hasn't soaked as much. The fact that it was 57* ambient out really doesn't do the system justice as the warmer it is out the better the system shines because the KC has more heat to remove. So this is with a TVS 2.5 ring and 2"ic piping. It only looks so dark out is because I fucted with the video so the gauges show up better. Don't mind the Tron soundtrack or my buddies yammering.

No knock @ 25* I rev it to 7300 on each shift. Meth, last year the car did 108.5mph in the quarter on a more conservative tune but slow is subjective to what you are comparing it too. The only thing I have noticed is the psi hangs around 19 forever so I think I might be losing some boost somewhere.

What were the first numbers to your 108mph pass? I thought your car would have more in it than that.

Come do a pass at SIR some day. There is a reason it is one of the lowest rated NHRA strips. When Projekt was out here 2 years ago running his bolted Trifecta tuned car I beat him. My car is faster now.

I'll come to SIR if you come to Gimli lol. It's an old plane runway... He ran a 13.6 out there. So what do you run now?

I have heard of Gimli. Drive in the ruts LOL. The best et I have ever had at SIR was 13.7. To put it in perspective I have never seen a stock Camaro ss do better the 14.5 at SIR. There was a edelbrock E-force equipped one at SIR once, best he did was 13.6. Shitty track is shitty.

Flatgod wont go to Gimli. I am the only guy you know on this forum who raced at Gimli in 1972 fercrissakes.
I was an FA newbie then. How new? I drove NORTH of Gimli to look for motels. When the road just stopped 5 miles out of Gimli, I knew then, this was the definition of "the end of the road".

I drove in Flatgod's RL last fall. His IAT are a wonder to behold. He is the original mad genius. Yes sir Mr White T!

Your car seems awfully slow

2 nd gear was zzzzzz

Maybe it's your tune. You even have a port matched head.

Think your being a little critical. Watch the our pulls at the same time.
