Didnt he refuse to re-tune you because u took hes base tune and refused to send data logs so he could dial it in? Sounds like safety to me.

He obviously had more modifications than you but he is running faster than what most turbocharged Cobalt run.

The person that I call "My tuner" is very reputable and an amazing tuner as well. I have heard of a person that blew an engine with one of his tunes, why? Because the car owner didn't listen to the tuner and drove it like a retard. It wasn't the tuners fault. I will be getting a re-tune by him, hopefully soon.

As for numbers. I say 245 whp 220 wtrq base and 270 whp 245wtrq after the tune.

Oh, forgot to mention that the person that is tuning my car ran a 13.0 on his M62 with a 2.7 and bolt-ons. He was using methanol injection and drag radials
you know that all tuners are amazing even if they leave a string of destruction in their wake and oh its never the tuners fault everyone needs to educate their selves and have a basic idea of what is going on before letting someone that can very easily put your car on the euthanized list of carnage

your tuner needs to step his game up also people have went faster on less

Its hard to imagine someone going through the trouble of getting the car tuned spending hundreds and hundreds in parts and then not putting premium gas in it...

Dude don't even ask a tuner question publicly.... I see you haven't been around long enough to know. But it never ends well.

I'd say that I know enough about tuning to realize what my tuner is doing. I just don't feel comfortable with saying that I can tune people out there.

He ran that way back in the day. He is able to get 340whp and 380+wtrq out of the TC Cobalt with bolt-ons. To me that says he knows what he is doing. He has done around those numbers multiple times. Like people have said though, dyno numbers don't matter anyway, timeslips show proof.

I never questioned what you had said to the OP so I'm not sure why you have to be all up on my back about it. My .02 is that the OP should read up on HP tuners to get an idea of what is going on when they are tuning his car and to ask many questions.

even worse spending thousands of dollars and thinking a "base" tune is going to net you max psi and wot performance.

Whats that smell guys? Sniff Sniff, smells like rebuild.

no need to be nervous if you arent beating on your car. Leave it at 10 or 15 psi until you get a good tune and you will still have fun with it and not break anything on a base tune. I wasnt wot tuned and popped my motor because I hooked my boost controller up backwards, my problems have been my own. Just dont assume anything and if I can help a fellow css member stay safe and learn from me, then not all is lost. Honestly I turned my boost controller down and in doing so turned it the wrong way. Got on the highway without checking boost levels and POP. Its just easy to make mistakes with builds and turbos. DONT ASSUME ANYTHING, research every step and you will be fine.

oh great *** stain did I even say a single word about james/ccss3 no I didn't and I wasn't referring to anyone in particular it was a general statement that before anyone gets tuned by anyone they should have a basic understanding of what is going on so they don't end up with giant pile of tuned unicorn ****

you missed one other thing it is also rpm dependent on how much boost is generated
