Don't waste your time with RAW man!

I had one made for my car during a RAW group buy back in the day. It fit like ****, and took over a month to get to me.

I haven't heard anything about them in at least 2 years. I would look else where.

I tried this with my K&N that came with my ottp cai, but the flange is only 3" id...stock air box tube is like 3.25 or something so i couldn't get the filter to stretch over the tube so i ended up installing the whole cai

kinna sucked to install, but fits great after all put togather

its a 2 piece cai but if you wanted to you could just weld it up to a one piece the fitment was so good

heres why i had a vacuum leak, factory put my intake together shitty after the maf from the box to the lower tube

Wow, this thread is old.

I read the polls, and I voted XTC intake at the time, haha.

Well, after testing a few intakes in my time (XTC, AEM, Rebel, & Injen), I have found/concluded the good ol' production Donaldson intake & modified airbox with K&N E-0777 works best with my setup.

My modified airbox:

Well look at what we have here.... 3".

This thread is well before the ZZP intake & your time man.

I don't think they are going to update it, haha.

Like I mentioned, I voted XTC intake at the time of this poll. That was my first intake back in 2007. This thread is olllldddd!

i had mine tied up well, only rubbed like once or twice(didnt know it til i saw the fenderliner) but then it was always hard up on the pcm and actually rubbed some of the aluminum cooling fins away(i stuck 1/4" rubber in there to keep it from getting worse)

at the filter/box and at the flange on the TB...other than that i doubt it, it bends and squishes into odd shapes

It's exactly 3" at the MAF housing as seen in my previous photo. The rest of the intake, if bended to a circle, messures close to 3" as well. I've measured mine a few times. That kink people think restricts flow actually doesnt. If you ever noticed it gets wider at that section to make up for some of the vertical "section loss".

The intake goes oblong in places for fitment, but it still maintains the same amount of flow.

The stock intake flows very well as long as you replace the crappy paper filter.

I've gone through so many intakes thinking "oh this one will make more power than this one". When in reality it never happened. A lot of people on here think just because it's stock it must be bad. That couldn't be further from the truth. The SS/SC can breath very well, it just can't exhale great. That's why exhaust mods like an exhaust ported head, or a simple header are far better modifications than aftermarket intakes.

I actually saw an almost 2 lbs/min MAF increase by switching out my Injen intake back to my stock intake with modified airbox and K&N filter. I also, compared intake restrictions by logging the supercharger inlet pressure. The stock intake with modified airbox and K&N filter was less restrictive there as well. Some wont want to believe this, and will try and call me out, but until you test it yourself you will never understand (not you Rootbeer this is a general statement).

To put this into perspective.... The Time Attack Cobalt SS/SC used the stock intake with a K&N filter and made close to 400whp on nitrous (over 300whp off nitrous). It flows just fine.

Aftermarket intakes work fine, and you can really pick what ever brand you want, but don't expect them to make a huge power increase over the stock setup. They do make the whine louder though.
