they're all stick...
and why 60? thats pretty high. is he stock?
when i had an intake and dp, i stayed neck and neck with one, i could hear he had an intake and exhaust as well. we raced 4 times, all had the same outcome.

stock for stock, the s2k may take you from a roll just barely depending upon atmospheric conditions. keep in mind, they do have a higher top speed. If it's real hot outside, it will affect a FI car more than a NA car, and it will give the s2k the edge. Try to race them on a cool night for the best results. if you are starting out from a dig, then it's game over for the s2k regardless of conditions if you know how to drive. first gear kind of sucks in the s2k. My best friend has one, and we race all the time. We are both stock. His is a 2 liter. Not sure what the results would be against a 2.2L s2k. Also be sure to not have any passengers. If one of you has a passenger, the guy without one will win. Removing your spare tire will also help. These cars are so close that anything you can do to help may give you the edge.

yes, we are both very good drivers. 1st gear in the cobalt sc is just ridiculously short, so it makes a decent advantage. If you get a good launch and NLS, you will have him. keep in mind, the 2.0L s2k makes like no power on the low end, and thats why they suck at launches in addition to a pretty long first gear. Even if you launch the s2k at 6k rpms, then you will be getting a lot of wheel spin too, and we all know that a bunch of wheel spin does not equal a good launch. traction is key. They upped the displacement and decreased the rev limit to 8k on the 2.2L s2k to get more low end torque, because they knew it lacked performance in that area.

you dont need the special software to NLS. It is in fact, just a method of shifting. you just have to be good at it to make it work. the NLS software protects for people not knowing how to do it properly. I've done it on a daily basis for 25k miles. another word for it is power shifting.

shift fast and get the timing right. i would only suggest it if you consider yourself highly skilled in shifting.

I wouldn't either if I was modded. That's what I love about having a stock engine. You can ream the living **** out of it 24/7 and it won't break.

you may need to change your transmission fluid. how many miles do you have? how many since last fluid change? could also be a TOB, slave, or PP issue.
