Back story. I used Red RTV by permatex cause i misunderstood some advice I had gotten from someone on here. My fault. Went to GM and picked up the correct RTV (ac delco part number below). ,
GM service manual says to torque case bolts to 15 ft lbs plus 70. No where in the GMSM or my Chilton manual does it have anything about going around a third run at 20 degrees. I have been told that its listed somewhere else. Just goes to show you even GM doesnt know what its other hand is doing.
Picked up the correct assembly RTV, yes even the back of the GM part number mentioned says RTV so dont worry about it being called room temp vulcanizing, its the temp range that matters. DONT USE RED RTV from Permatex, when I reassembled with the gm stuff the crank was a bit tighter so that tells me that it wasnt getting the clamping force it needed with all the extra red rtv between the case.

Edit: pics are not in order, I have to reconfigure this engine build folder to post in newest first order. Will do that later.

No updates, I work during the day, school at night. Started my degree program this week.
Every thing looks good on an engine stand.
Thanks Yel

Appreciate the compliments but I am waiting on a rear main seal from CED, they messed my order up but a phone call got everything ironed out. I cant put the clutch and trans on until I get the seal. So if it doesnt get here today, I will have to wait until next week due to work and school.
In the mean time, I am going to get the tranny mounted up on the cradle with my ottp stage 2 mounts, axles back in, aluminum control arms mounted up, and everything wiped down and shiny.
