First post , but why don't any of you guys run the 1600AX twinscrew? I have only seen a 1000ax on these cars and they are out of their max efficency range.

I only ask cause I have ran one on an RSX engine.... So I know about the upgrade witht hem fromt he m62 to the 1600....Done some heat testing also....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvkzmetTOp4

Chart that shows the difference in temps that our intake air temp sensor is reading in a 3000-8500 rpm WOT sweep VERSUS a 10 second steady state rpm and boost load. Boost levels in sweep and steady state modes were almost exactly the same. RSX brakes will never be the same again. Try a 10 second run at 7000 rpm in 3rd and hold the brakes so you don't go any faster. Wow. And one more note..... and that is that the intake air heat would level off after about 6 seconds; so the steady state heat figures are probably within a few percent of what they would be in a bench test over 20 seconds.

Falme suit is on....I know I am a noob here...

If HP and TQ are gained, over another charger wouldn't that offset the parasitic loss? Lysholm charger btw

Depends...Cooled or uncooled....and the PSI...This was on an uncooled setup and it was probably around 300-320 hp at 12psi...Cooled at 15psi 350-375 easy..

With 12 psi the charger was at 12,100 rpm at 8800 rpm so on the RSX there is room to go. The 1600AX published material from last year said 15,000 rpm. And I've heard from the people that did R&D on the Saleen twin-screw kit that 16,000 is about the limit you want to stay under. 18-20 psi on the RSX is about the limit...Obviously it would be different for your car, but I do see potential with that unit over the TVS and the M62...

Yeah, but it still would be an improvment even to the 1200ax or even the tvs at the higher end of pressures....Just a thought...

As well as the 1200ax. Dont feel like a nub. Worthwhile technical information triumphs post count any day.

To be honest, a 1600 would require quite a bit of fabrication, which is why you dont see any around here. Its a bit easier to fab a home made turbo kit for close to the desired result.

I do look forward to more input about this from you though. Stick around.

the only thing i forsee a problem is clearance between the manifold and the core support with the 1600 on it. plus fuel rail clearance, coolant hose. ya know. the little things

Outlet plate and inlet plate...Slight adjustments for clearances and done...Dunno, I just think if I can slap that sucker on a rsx with a m62 manifold and NO room in the engine bay, it should be pretty easy for you guys...

Thanks guys! There is a lot of good info in this thread. I have the wife talked into allowing me to get a Harrop. I would like to meet up with Rodimus to check out his set-up.

Anyone know where to get a good deal on hardwood flooring? Thats what she gets out of the deal.

This weekend I am going to Brians house (you know Brian...right?) and we are going to check the compression and do a leak-down test. If there is any doubt, I am pulling it down before the TVS.
