The ZZP adjustable tensioner replaces the stock tensioner.

The tensioner has 3 different holes. One is for a stock sized pulley (I believe), the middle one is for a 2.7" - 3", and the last one is for a 2.6" and less. You just choose which one you need to use depending on the size of the pulley your putting on and you put the bolt/screw into that hole and your set.

So where exactly is the slipping point in needing a aftermarket tensioner? I know people with 2.9's that have no belt slip and some even with 2.8's.

what do you mean there's no way to tension it. It has 3 holes one for several different sizes. bolt your tension arm into the right hole and then use the reverse threaded bolt to pull it down, put the belt back on and then let it back up and it tensions. mine works great for my 2.6
