if you look at where it is in the bay, its not very visible. Its kind of tucked up halfway under the wiper cowl and mostly out of sight. I'm not a huge fan of painting more than I have to. Less I have to worry about chipping or scratching while working in the bay
in his best brad pitt impersonation. "whats in the boxxx?"

I have enough on my plate already. This was just a quick 30 minute thing to do to help get my motivation going again. Plus I was tired of tripping over the ac lines in the garage haha.
I havent decided what I want to do today, but at least one thing is getting done. Im thinking about tapping out and plugging the nipple on the intake manifold, and adding a port on the drivers side for a boost reference line.

Might not have a step forward today, but I unpacked my overnight parts from china. Only got a few hours of sleep last night and am crashing hard. Will probably be asleep within the hour.

For anyone that might be interested:
Oem trunk with 3rd brake and a small amount of fatmat (.45 lbs a square foot). No latch or key tumbler, carpet mat, or spoiler. Just under 20 lbs. Calling it 19
Carbon/fiberglass trunk was just a hair over 11 lbs with the planks on the hinge points from shipping. Calling it 11
Carbon/fiberglass hood is 18lbs, but my oem is still on the car.
It was all weighed on a beam type scale like in a doctors office. When I say just over or just under, we are talking tenths of a pound, not halfs or anything

My accomplishment of the day today was another very small one.
I had bought some repop rock auto manual mirrors a while back. They had the non painted "insert", and I was afraid that my painted oem wouldnt swap over. Such an easy thing to do, I've just been putting it off...
So today I verified that the painted insert would fit the knockoff mirror. It fit much better than expected. The plastic on the new mirror actually looks better than the oem. might just be an age/wear difference, but i am very happy for under 20 bucks each.
The pictures I took came out like garbage, so I wont even bother

Another small accomplishment today. Pulled some misc brackets from the car that aren't being utilized anymore. back seat upright locks, headrest brackets, etc
Planning on dropping the subframe this weekend, and starting to clean up the engine bay, and re run some brake lines

I'm just over here slowly disassembling my car one bolt and wire at a time. I might have to get the angle grinder out in the meantime...

Ended up not being home all weekend, so I failed on my one thing per day.
I called the machine shop just now and there is one engine before mine, and he should be getting to mine this week. I asked a time-frame and he said it was hard to say, but he would let me know hopefully in a few days.

I would really like to have a set date for my engine. My "roommates" are allowing me to take over the garage for a month, and one month only, and I don't want to start the timer too soon. There is a lot of big stuff that needs to be done, and right now it's tucked into the corner of the garage. Makes working on it a pain in the dick because I have to unpack and repack everything each time I work on it so that another car can fit.
Once I can get it centered in the garage and get some workspace tables setup, things will start flying. I'm still going to try to do one small thing a day, but I'm running out of things that dont require some breathing room. I was hoping to have gotten the "all done" call by now, but maybe week 15 will be the charm lol
