The power differences will be minimal, but the price difference is a lot
New plan (drunkenly though about it the other night) is to find a cheap LSJ this summer and make that the project car, so if I can score this mid length/downpipe for $300 I'd say it's a decent deal. Otherwise if this falls through I'll probably just pick up a new 2.5" downpipe from zzp since they're down the road and I don't have to worry about shipping. I'll probably pick up the shorty header too since it's only $150 and looks purty haha.

When I pulled the head off the blown motor, I just set it in a plastic bin right away to keep the drippings and whatnot in line. I didnt really inspect it until now. It didn't take any detective work to figure this one out....

I learned how to weld!!!!

I forgot who I was talking to about the head. "I need to actually look at it, but it should be all good" hahaha

I bought seats -__-

I bought manual window regulators, mirrors, and I'm currently in the process of gutting the car -__-

This is a -__- face kind of week.... the worst part is that the ENTIRE car is fatmatted, and taking it out is more of a bitch than putting it in was

Oh man, good call. I forgot about the exhaust heat shielding haha

I am very into audio, and my entire car is matted. Doors inside skin and outside skin, same with quarters, the floor, whole trunk, rear deck.... it's time for that all to go.

I decided that since this isn't my daily driver, I'm just going to go all out. Manual swap on the windows and mirrors, gut everything but the dash and center console. Radio and speaker delete. Full deal. I'm sure there will be days I regret it, but I'm building this car to go fast, not drive to the opera.

I can't wait for it to be loud and shitty and awesome

I'm going to keep the outside and engine bay looking minty, but eff the interior. The funniest thing is that I just bought suede corbeaus..... #racecar.

lol yeh im over the loud and shitty phase of cars, every car i have ever owned up until the balt has been like that all through my 20s. This will probably be the last of the 2dr coupes I ever own, once the balt goes, ill probably look into a G8 or grand prix GTP or comp G. I have more issues now with having a 2 door car as a dd then ever before, nobody likes driving my car cus its loud, low and obnoxious looking, not to mention it catches eyeballs from the cops all the time.

My exhaust is actually fairly mellow, I'm just talking obnoxious as in road noise and engine noise inside the car.

If it were my DD it would be a different story. But for now it's the turdmobile canwagon with fancy ass seats.

If you're going to go that far, are you going to upgrade the master cylinder mounting plate to the SS/TC one?

No, but it is thicker to prevent you from pushing the clutch slave cylinder through the firewall when you shift.

no difference in temps yet! havent seen coolant go over 190! weight reduction radiator ftw

oh and ps,, ive driven my car for - what, 3 days now? - with just the trunk gutted and i think i hate it. i could never fully embrace the fast shitmobile feel. i know its purist, i know its raw, visceral, power weight. i know. but dammit, my whole dash rattles and i can barely hear the blower due to the obnoxious exhaust buzzing in my trunk. and it's not even a loud exhaust. lol

lol ive learned over the years that sacrificing ride quality for speed on a car you drive all the time isnt not the way to go.

This fatmat is proving itself a worthy pain in the dick. Slowly but surely....

I got the power window, speaker, and mirror out, and the door harnes on the passenger side. Just need to get the rest of this damn mat out, and I can make a panel for the door.

I was worried about the harness that run in the front footwells, but I have it figured out. I'm going to delete all of the door related wiring, and run the remaining up through the console and back the the dash endcap. The only things remaining all end at the dash sides, so I should be able to just reroute them without cutting. That way I won't have to worry about myself of a passenger kicking wiring or whatnot. It would make more sense with pictures, but this fatmat has me too frustrated to snap pics. Maybe tomorrow.

I'm typing this on my phone, but will update in a minute with more stuff. Just taking a quick break

Did it make any difference in the interior noise? I'm debating about what areas of placement will be most effective.

Just wanted to follow up with ya on this, did you ever figure out the M6>M8 situation, i did wind up fixing the threads on the spare head and checking the alignment, worked out flawlessly. Even though I wont be using it. lol
