hey guys so im still on the sc build but ive ran into a slight problem... ive got the lsj idler pulley on the way, but my problem is the fact of the belts and the pulleys... im running a 2.8 pulley on the blower and it has 5 slots for the belt to fit into, while the alternator and the crank, and the ac pump have only 4.... the lsj idler pulley, tensioner, and the blower pulley all have 5. so my question is, is there a belt that can fit four slots and is rigded on both sides? because i cant seem to find any solution to this:/ thanks for the help guys!
you have to cut one rib of the belt, and make sure the belt sits on the ribs closes to the engine, the ones that are not used from the lsj pullies should be open the the side furthest from the engine, and the stock pulies have 5 ribs, the lsj ones have 6...so..
crank=5 ribs
ac condensor=5 ribs
idler=6ribs
tensionor=6 ribs
sc pulley=6 ribs

haha thats fine i was thinking of this a while back but didnt want to but hey if its the only option then im all in. lol thanks guys and closest to the engine sounds good. now for the next :/ i just bought a throttle body (lsj) from the dealership so i can plant in on the blower. well i was looking into it and i found that the lsj tb socket for the plug has 8 prongs, where as my throttle body stock harness has only 6 openings? am i maybe just looking at the wrong one or do i need to get something else? thanks for all the feedback guys!
you have to make the 6 wires work for 8, so you have to splice 2 extra wire and tee off the 2 low reference ones from factory, you will need the 8 pin clip too :p i know we had to do that with interviewatruins bc he had a 07 model, not hard at all, just need a wiring diagram and im sure you can figure it out
so by tee off you mean cut them? from the throttle body? i have a diagram from vince on how to connect them but its a 8-8 switch... mines a 6-8. i have a 2008 ls lol. if you know of any kind of diagram thatd be great! thanks man!
lol ya dont see anything wrong there. lol ive got the dual pass and oversized heat exchanger but no meth... yet... haha i was actually talking about the mrz pullies any problems with those? and your running a 2.8, hows that working for you as far as power?
No problems with the MRZ. They work great. We technically didn't need to run meth in my car cuz it was running cool enough, it was more of a "just in case" back up kinda thing. If you don't have the cooling mods to support the 2.8 though they've been known to knock so if I were you I'd budget to run meth but that's just me and my OCD on keeping the car safe.
Power wise it's def got more power then the stage 2 gave it. You've also got to put the 60lbs injectors in. But with all that a good tune I think you'll be happy. I'm happy with mine. I'm not sure of power right now. I haven't had a chance to dyno it. We were debating taking it to SMG in Mass while we were down here but I just had to replace one wheel bearing and am going to do the other for good measure so we'll see what funds are like. I don't really want to say what we are expecting for power cuz half of the ***** on here will say there is no way prove it blah blah blah so until I get a dyno sheet it's staying quiet.

We're working on looking at all the options to fix this. You can either get gears and put them in the stock housing or get a custom fly wheel made and use the ss transmission. Lots of things to think about.

I've been running a 2.8" no belt slip at all...ever, u dont need to convert pullies, cavaliers run 2.8" as well with no belt slip, don't bother changing the other pulleys, u'll be fine, both me and interviewatruins ran a 2.8 with a stg2 belt fine, loads of cavys do it too, save ur money on those pullies. Meth is up to you and what ur plans are. I haven't ran it, I even ran unintercooled for a month on my 2.8, raced the car that way, still no problems...
ok so sounds like theres no need but then again the mrz pullies arent a waste either and i totally understand rocket about having people just start flaming about the power. but yeah im basically just doing the build for a fun project that will increase power lol. im going to get the trifecta tune as well after everything is put in, and i already bought the 60# injectors i just need to custom make the injector harness... as well as the throttle body one which i have no idea to do. except the info ive gotten from you guys thanks for everything by the way. and like i said before ive got the dual pass going as well and since we are in the winter i think ill go ahead and instead of getting meth, use the money for headers instead which would be needed despertly lol. then when spring comes around the meth cause ity gets so freaking hot over here in houston. lol. im also thinking of getting a boost controller as well though so that way i can keep the engine running safe. what psi you guys running?

2.9's don't usually have a problem, it's the 2.8's and smaller. You also don't need to go to a bigger injector with the 2.9

PSI I'm running 14-15 if I beat the **** out of it but that's extremely rare that I do that. For the car to easily get up and pass someone it usually does it around 7-10/12.
The tranny is holding up fine. I've had no issues what so ever with it. Sept the gearing blows. My car's been like this since July-ish and I've but 30-40,000 miles on it. Make sure you switch to synthetic oil to if you don't already run it.
ya i already run with royal purple lol. and ya im debating the pullies better safe then sorry i guess. im getting paid a pretty fat check in a week anyways so maybe that can go. and thats very releiving to hear! about the transmission. mines a f23 and i was just hoping no one had any issues. and ya i do def plan switching out the clutch also lol. will stay on stock for a little while but it will have to change everyone says it slips. and your running 15psi on a 2.8? is that without a boost controller? cause ive heard they push out about 17psi. thanks for all of the replies by the way guys im glad to see everyones own opinions and experiences.
I don't have a boost controller. The higher the PSI doesn't necessarily mean it's running at it's best. And the higher the PSI the more chance of it blowing up are. It's better to do everything you can to it with cooling, exhaust, etc and run a lower PSI. In these motors with stock internals, you really don't want to be pushing 17 psi.
My clutch lasted me about two months before I decided to change and although it did slip, it didn't NEED to be done. That being said, if you plan on going to the track every week you're probably going to have to look at changing it sooner. I went for the spec stage 2+

Ya and see I know high boost maybe isn't the vest solution but I just don't want to blow the motor that would not be to fun. And ya I'm looking at thepolyrothelyne or something like that it's a little gasket made of a cooler metal that goes in between the manifold and the engine to help keep the iat cooler
