haha yea man, i hear ya there. i got a set of 42.5#ers. i was running a good head that ive had for the past 2 years w/ the comp stg2 cams but found a company to cnc p&p w/ custom cams to operate in the heads main power range, close to comp stg2 cams range, but im hoping to make 250whp. biggest things i found with these cars for gaining power.... cams, compression ratio, port & polish head. they all go hand in hand, basically one without the other doesnt get the gains like you want them to, but all together will make some pretty dyno numbers. my set-up but w/ stock cams (garbage tires) 2.39 60', 9.82@75.25 1/8, 14.85@100.22 1/4. 2.20 60', 9.78@74.08 1/8, 14.90@98.80 1/4. were my 2 runs on stock cams. 2.17 60', 8.91@81.05 1/8, 13.72@104.15 1/4 is my best overall with the current setup
dear tom.
i would be in danger if you we able to launch properly. just give her some juice.
and about your reaction time LOL. i would be able drive to downtown seattle and back and you would be still there waiting at the green. just drop everything when you see the last yellow.
why not burn out a little bit. when you drive around water, you put sand and dirt on your tires. it ll be more difficult to align in the groove.
and finally, 2:23 sec for a pass, youtube has a video editor.

I dont care about the reaction time lol, not bracket racing
and ya...launching is my weak point, but with street tires...burning out wont do much if anything...i need stickier tires :P

He's right about burning out, cleaning em off a bit and getting a little heat never hurt anybody. Especially with the stupid long wait times between runs, my tires were cold when I got up to the light finally. Slicks would be nice but not before axles.
i know but against someone else that has 50 whp more than you, that reaction can make a difference
i dont care about reaction when i m alone on the track. i can get 1,3 sec to get it right
hunkernage, i know you know but it seems like your tryin to say reaction time slows your 1/4 ET. i ran .00X numerous times for reaction time, but when im just there to try to break my old times, i dont pay attention to the lite. i get my rpms set, get ready to release clutch and drop ebrake anytime after i see that it is green haha. i like your times w/o cams but why so slow w/? you can launch 1-1.5K higher w/ cams and not spin as much as w/o the cams.
tom, heat the street tires for the hell of it, seemed to help me out. i need to post up a vid of my drags. hopefully ill get some new ones by end of summer lol id sell you the head i got but its cracked leaking coolant into the spark plug hole somehow. bout ready to say forget the cobalt and move on to somethin more fun. regardless if i get rid of the cobalt or not, ill have a s13 240 and/or an s2k by next summer so rwd fun at beaver run (local drift/autox track)

Recall you asking about the benefits of switching to E85 for an N/A car, here's a pretty good read on what exactly switching to ethanol will do and enable you to change. Article is written with a turboed car in mind so anything that says "boost" you can just swap out for "compression"

new muffler put on last week...will need to get a vid of it, so much quieter, sounds better....ya...nom.
Its a super turbo 3" offset in 2 3/4" center out. feels better too, like maybe the other one was too straight through and didnt provide for the highest exhaust velocity overall...
will have to get it out on the track to test that out though :P

I dyno'd my all-motor 2.2 back to back with an exhaust and with my cut-out open, cut-out open made an extra 9whp and 13wtq.
The cut-out is almost exactly where the cat used to be, so if there is enough velocity there then your cat back should have much more than enough.
Just food for thought.

That is exactly what I do, I have it on an electric cut-out so I can open it up whenever I like without having to get under the car.
It is also very fun to annoy your buddies while going under bridges...haha
Here is the dyno graph of the back to back runs....the higher one is obviously the one with the cut-out open.
