you only have to worry about modifying the cold side CP, hot side works just fine.

lol for the most part no ebay turbo kit is complete and people bolt them on and blow s*** up bcuz they dont know any better. what ide like to see is with supporting mods will the turbo itself hold up ..and the garrett rebuild kit (directly from garrett not ebay ) is 89 dollars ..ive seen ebay turbos blow seals and leak oil every where.. well itd be nice if u could replace those seals and other internals maid of quality for 89 dollars..and save alot of money from buying a garrett ..

Im confused here...Why would you buy something like an ebay kit knowing full well that most of the parts wont fit? Wouldnt money have been better spent browsing your local forums, this forum, and craigslist and piece together a kit yourself with lightly used higher quality parts that you know will fit an ecotec, wont put a piston thru the hood because of a malfunction due to quality, and will have a good lifespan?

I dont know much about this whole modifying cars thing but I do know that you shouldnt have to buy parts more than once to see if they fit, seems like a waste of time to me and I make my money by doing the job right the first time quickly and efficiently.

only thing that really has to "fit " that came in the kit was the exhaust manifold ..which i am currently being refunded for ..

I'm all for staying neutral and everything... BUT why not just buy some late 90's hatch back civic for 800 bucks, swap a b18 yourself for about the same cost as the car, turbo it for (again) the same amount, upgrade from the exhaust manifold back to the tip, CAI, run nos through it for a couple hundred, then take a ratchet to your seats and tune, and you can get something just as fast (if not quicker). You get the satisfaction of doing it yourself, the satisfaction of wasted money, oh and it's "wasted" because, well.. it's a honda after all..

Lol i hear u man and ive been there! Ive changed som things arounf and will only be using the turbo intercooler and piping .. Everything else will be name brand and im still keeping it a lil cheaper buy saving on the turbo..the garrett rebuild kit sould do te trick .. If the ebay internals are whats failing then garrett internals sould hold up.. Makes sense.. But we'll see.. Plus i kinda want to make a point lol

WoW you guys are harsh !! I know guys on tech that are making 600 plus horse with junk yard 5.3's and ebay on3 turbo's and cxracing gt45's using eBay intercoolers some guys have used the ebay turbo kits for the ls1 stuff as well and have run into issues where they have had to longate a bolt hole or bend a pipe for better fitment but its been done and have made great power with that stuff.
I personally have never seen the eBay turbo stuff for the 2.4 cobalt's but i personly would not use any wast gate off ebay or anything that had to do with fueling the car or electronics that come with some of the shity kits i have seen on there. if the manifold works and the rest of the hard parts will work use um but i personly would call up huron speed or moduler turbo for the other stuff being they helped me with my turbo trans am build. good luck man i like seeing people make power on the cheap !!!

F the haters bro. Im with OP who cares if his car bows up? Its his car, not yours. And like OP I enjoy working on cars and fixing problems. I could never just build a car, then drive it and never tinker again. If it blows up, the he will have a reason to build an ever stronger motor.... Le5s are pretty tough compared to my l61...stock for stock. Just get a good tune and you'll be set.
