I havent read all the responses to this thread, but i will chime in here. I pieced my turbo kit together from scratch. I used an Ebay IC Kit and piping, and an Ebay 57trim T3/T4. That is it for ebay parts and thats as much as i would recommend using to anyone looking for a budget build. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT cheap out on your manifold, wastegate, or BOV. You will be looking very quickly for a new motor. I used quality name brand component for those. Ebay turbos do not like oil pressure more than a few PSI. They NEED and oil restrictor. I have ran a Ebay turbo for over 3 years with no issues, not a puff of blue, not a drop of oil. I made enough power to trap nearly 115mph in the 1/4 but pull a 14.7 from traction issues. There is a correct way to do a budget build and a wrong way and from what was described in the OP you are going down the wrong path. Thats just my two cents on your build from my own personal experiments in this area.

also everyone seems to forget that one of the first guys to turbo swap a LSJ used a Ebay 60-1 turbo and made well over 450whp. He later went to a bigger turbo and made over 550whp.

Look at his trap speed lol.that's a easy 12 sec trap.I can already see what you slip looks like with that ET and MPH.
Terrible 60' time, terrible 330' time ,terrible 1/8th time lol.Next time look at trap speeds before you jump to conclusions Alissa.Take them bald street tires off and put on a DR or slick and that car would pop off 12's easily.

You said i should be faster than the S/C 2.2's. You failed to see my trap speed, almost 115mph. Easy mid or low 12's with some good tires. I had a 3.0 60' and a 10.0 1/8th mile, i did the other 1/8th in under 5 seconds when i caught a little ( very little traction). I spun down the track into 4th gear.

this is what i have been trying to say !! i have been using nitrous on my lil cobalt for 3 years now the bottom end on these motors are pretty strong being i have sprayed 125 horse wet blasts at the car with nothing more then a fuel pump and a tune.

if i ever do plan to boost the car i would not have a problem useing some of the ebay stuff!! but you have to know who to buy from! cx racing seems to be a decent on there turbo's hell there is a guy on tech making around 700 horse with a junk yard 5.3 and a ebay cx racing gt45 i have been fallowing for months with no problems. on3 performance will frome ebay! huron speed and moduler turbo will include the proper restrictors needed to run these turbo's when you buy the lines from them !

when my trans am was bone stock i would trap 109 mph @ 12.9 mph with 6 thousand miles on it! stock good year eagle f1 tires with a 2.0 60 foot your that lil cobalt runs good get some sticky tires on it !
