again ..ive seen people say a few times on dif forums too ..to run a restrictor on these ebay turbos..from what i see most t3/t4 to4e turbos r journal bearings i seen one or 2 with the option of ball bearing..the site i got it from is calling it a wet float bearing which im assuming is theyr chinese way of saying journal bearing lol ? well that being said y sould i have a restrictor? wouldnt i want to keep some of that pressure up ? anyone? i understand the concept that without a restrictor especially with the weaker seals in these ebay turbos u could potentially have to much pressure and blow seals and what not..but what direction is better ??

I am telling you, Run a restrictor. If you decide that my experiance isnt enough and dont use one then dont cry when your posting a thread titled "my turbo blows oil, whats wrong?"

Well what im telling u is that doesnt make sense unless u can provide me with y? U have no logical reason.. Its a journal bearing turbo.. If the pressure is to low the bearing wont float and it will grind .. I bought both tho.. 20 dollars y not.. When we log on the last day i will start without the restrictor.. See how high my oil pressure is and judge from there if i spuld put on the flange with the restictor.. Not saying ur wrong..just seems like u dont seem to have a reason y beside "because i said so"

Because it's too much pressure for the CHRA seals to handle and will push oil through them causing tons of smoke out of the exhaust, leaking oil in the intake/compressor housing, and consuming the **** out of oil.The restrictor still allows oil to the bearings but drops pressure so you don't blow out the seals.Listen to the guy and run a restrictor.

Before I S/C'd my car,I ordered stuff to go turbo.I bought a "ebay" turbo(57 trim) and got sent a Turbonetics unit.Lol Wether I got lucky or they F'd up,it worked out in my favor haha.I thought maybe they just slapped the name brand compressor housing on it but I ran all the serial numbers on the CHRA and everything was legit. You never know what you will get these days.

They are no name turbos lol and they work like a boss. Just because its not name brand doesn't mean it's a pos, but yea most are garbage. FYI most makers of the cheap turbos make the expensive ones too lol.

Ok that's fine but I wouldn't risk it. I don't want my car to blow up.

The turbo will blow up before the car will, and as you've said many times in this thread you wouldn't put an eBay turbo on your car why even voice your opinion? This guy is just trying to be cheap and have fun, let him do his thing lol it's just money.

.57 trim tells you nothing about that turbo. Just an fyi for you.

The s256 has a 56mm compressor wheel inducer.

You might be able to make that kit work for you. You're still going to have to do a custom exhaust, do your own charge piping, and mounting. If your really using that manifold make SURE its not warped and get a good gasket for the back of the head AND get a triple layer turbo gasket. Trust me just buy one.

What wastegate does it have?

Oh btw run a restrictor and make sure your return line is at a good angle and not kinked
