I've spent my fair share of money up there. At one point I got a $225 credit in Summit bucks from buying 10 g's at once lol

Bogarts finally showed up:

Mounted the tires on them last night in my buddies garage, if its nice when I get off work I'll test fit them and check for clearances.

Mike @ AMMFAB finished the head and header and shipped them out last week to a pick up store in the US, heading there on the weekend to pick them up.

Sorted out my clutch yet again, going with a Bully with a stock pressure plate and a stage 3 6-puck sprung disk. Order is going in tonight, hopefully I have it by next week sometime.

All goes well hopefully I'll start tearing into my car next week or the week after to "borrow" some parts to build the new motor.

All I need now is some gaskets and new valve seals....also will probably have to send the head out to get the cam journals re-bored since I don't have the original cam caps for the head anymore and had to pick up another set.

Things are FINALLY starting to come together.

Test fit was a success, no rubs anywhere, would of been mint even with 4.5" BS would be nice if they stuck in another 0.5" but oh well.

And some clearance photos for anyone interested in also running a 13" rim

Tie rod looks close in the last photo but it's just the angle of the photo.

Cleaned out my buddies garage tonight so I would have some room to build the motor, too many projects going on in there at once, junk everywhere.

Good news it's clean so I can start pulling apart the 2.4 tomorrow night and get what work I can get done, done.

Gonna have to pull the motor out of my car soon to borrow some parts to get the other bits I need.

Making progress tho.

But ya, full race port, 3 angle valve job. I believe only the full race port includes the polished combustion chammbers.

Intake should flow 300cfm, exhaust should flow 215cfm.

Made some progress last night, not bad for a couple hours work....

Cylinder Head Off/Disasembled:

This dick even came out to help (he is mad in the picture cause this motor will be faster than his LNF ):

Dirty Pistons (must of been lady driven):

GMR Hardened Oil Pump Gears Installed:

LZM Balance Shaft Delete Plugs Installed:

Painted my Crank Trigger Wheel:

Pretty much as far as I can go till I pull my motor and get my valve seals in. Still need to clean the deck up a bit and clean the carbon off the pistons....but thats not a big deal.

haha the name was just for fun, everyone seems to keep the bottom end first and the head last (LE61)(LS61) so I did the same.

This thread makes me want to start building the 4g64 in my shop. It's been collecting dust cuz I've been too lazy and short on engine stands.

4G64? is the a hybrid of the 4g63 and something else? or did you just hit the wrong button. I'm not huge into dsm's so I'm asking.

Newt, where did you get the hardened oil pump gears and if you dont mind me asking how much?

Right from Bates Engineering, they are the ones who makes them for GMR.

Cheapest you will find them anywhere, $285 IIRC, everywhere else is like $340.

You have to call them tho, they dont get back to emails.

It's the 2.4l they put in the 2g non-turbo verts and the eclipses from 2000-2005. Most of the parts from an evo or 1g/2g will bolt to it though, depending on what you wanna put it in. The one I have is going in a 1g. And your thread did motivate me to go get it down to a bare block. Now I just gotta send the head and block to get tanked and decked so I can start on the p&p and load some slugs into it.

Seems there is not much interest over here for this anymore...but I'll keep updating for those few who are interested.....well that and it helps kill time at work...hahaha

More Progress:

Motor is out.

Block and pistons are cleaned up.

Valve Seals should be here by Friday.

Still need some various parts at the dealer but I'll grab those next week.

All goes well I'm hoping to have the motor together by next weekend.
