my LSJ build :D
Well, ideally you'd need rockers with 1mm higher mounted ball bearings to compensate the smaller base circle and keep correct valve geometry...
Sadly these do not exist, so solid lifters is 2nd best.
(Maybe you can fit some valve stem caps, but normal caps would need some modding (sides) so they fit inside the rockers...)
The way the valve stems are nested into the roller followers makes it hard to use any sort of lash cap on the valve. I was looking into titanium valves and the main issue there is that you need a different material at the top of the valve as galling is an issue there with titanium. Raising the valve height would still change the valvetrain geometry on its own, so if the goal was to keep the valvetrain geometry the same, you'd have to do different lash adjusters (solid lifters) and taller valves. I've still been looking for other roller followers with different bearing diameters, but, haven't found anything usable. Thankfully, zrated here purchased my GMR cams, so, I don't have to think about it any more.

i think what i still may be doing is using the oem lash adjusters with the gmrs. Even with the head casting and the way the bore is, we may build the bore up and machine it back down to run the oem stuff, so no shims needed

its not hard to do pistons and rods with the block still installed...most people leave the blocks in if they are not sleeving...at least from the builds that i have done

it wasnt hard. But me being a tech, i spent alot of time honing the sleeves, cleaning everything and gapping the total seal rings by hand. All tedious stuff. Most that throw pistons in dont hone the block, let alone hone it in car
