Uh... No new updates. New belt will be here on monday. I bled the intercooler system in the mean time. On the first drive, the intercooler had maybe a couple cups of fluid in it. The ambient air temp was like 98 degrees (like 12 in the morning), and my IAT2 was 164-167 degrees. After bleeding the intercooler, ambient air temp was 113 (mid-day), and IAT2 was ~125-130. Huge difference. Still gotta figure out WTF is up with the knock sensor

i dont remember...killa cam will have to scan them again...there were like seven codes poppin up first one was for the A/C pressure switch was not connected then all the other one when it was running so well have to wait for him to scan them again

 

Ported blower, dual pass intercooler mod, and cobra HE. Intercooler and blower were cyro frozen (33% better heat dissipation).

I'm getting 2 codes for the knock sensor, 2 for the front o2 sensor, and 1 for the ac pressure sensor.

 

Might some dumb, but I am assuming you have the right connection for knock sensor, and also on the right spot on block?

 

Ever find out what those two danglers were at the front of the car?

 

The multiple codes for the same problem are probably a pending code and a set code. They both mean the same thing so disregard the pending code as long as it's identical to the other one.

 

no idea....i found a repair manual for the cobalts and looked at the wiring diagram but couldnt find what they were..im at a loss

im not @ his house...they were both 2 wire connectors up front on the bottom one was on the driver side...the other was on pass. side...if i remember correctly one was light green and red????other white and blue??????i could be wrong but i searched everywhere on the engine and trans for any un connected sensors but i couldnt find anything at all.

 

I'm almost positive we got the knock sensor plugged in. So I hope its not fuct. Also I think we just forgot the plug in the O2 sensor.

 

So how's the car running cam? Did you ever find out what was wrong?

 

my buddy with the 98 gsx had the same issue when he got his motor built as well just something small an seemingly easy ends up always being the issue, in his case there were boost leaks and an issue with the throttle body

 

Drove it to the gym last night. I runs and drives, thats all I care about at this point.

 

crucial parts plugged in not sure? how can you do that to a new motor?

 

Eh, you don't need an o2 sensor...when you get high just standing behind the car, you know it's running rich enough.

 

Actually, its learning pretty good. It now idles around 13.8-14.2 arf, much better than 12.3-12.6! I might need a new O2 sensor though.

 

Can you post the actual description of the codes here? I'm just curious what it says...
