OFFICIAL Blown 4-banger build updates!
The car I helped build in Cali did something close. They attempted to port the intake manifold and ruined the cores. The cores were leaking bad, and the motor was just sucking in coolant. I don't know we didn't hydro lock it. Just down the street and it went through a gallon. Take the blower off and there would be a puddle about 4-5 inches deep with just water, it was filled.
But we drove the car around for a long time once it ran dry, and even once we re-filled it.

okay, got a question for you SUPER KNOWLEDGEABLE GUYS. Sorry to thread jack blown but since you are running your car dry sump, it does kind of have something to do with your car.
orginally blown cars didn't have "cooling" like we do. All they ran for "cooling" was water/meth injection. So would our cars make more power if the intake manifold was just hollowed out? as in just ditching the cooling?
I know it would mean that you get hot quicker, and that you couldn't necessarily make 10million interstate pulls. But there are daily driven blown cars with no cooling. I know of a blown mustang in omaha. Hell, even the GTP grand prix's didn't come with any type of cooling. So what's stoppin us from ditching the laminovas and picking up TONS of air flow. Hell, there might not even be a need for the rediculously small pullies anymore.
Just me randomly thinking.

If you want to run the M62 hard for any amount of time you'll need something to keep the intake charge cool. I believe Frazier and Blown are just talking about around town, driving like aunt Mabel, kind of driving. I'm sure the reason the GTP's don't have an aftercooler is because of the difference in blowers. The stock GTP blower is not pushed near as hard as the M62 is from the factory. I'm sure you'll notice that a lot of the modded GTP's are running meth injection or some sort of cooling method. I'm sure it's fine for driving like grandma but definitely not something worthwhile if you're pushing the limits of the car.
I'd like to see someone hollow the stock intake (or better yet create a custom one) and use a plate type cooler over the supercharger mating surface (almost like the dry nitrous carb plates, exactly like the new Mustang Rousch supercharger intake manifolds) instead of the stock laminovas. I think it's really hindering the capability of the car and even the stock M62. Granted, forced induction can afford a little more resistance in the intake tract but there are still gains to be had there. I'm not sure if it's even plausible, just random thoughts in my head.

Basically, yes. For now at least. I'm so broke I can't even drive it. I have no gas, and no money to buy gas. So yes, until I get some more money its staying as is for now. It sucks, but keep in mind, I didn't drive her for 17 months! So just being able to drive it awesome! Plus it still has the wicked "cammed" idle we all love
2 guys in a evo were gonna try to race me from a dig, we came to a stop and my car was sitting there thumping along, and I could hear the passenger say "He's cammed! **** that!"
It was awesome!
well at least you got her running again!
So today, we took the manifold off to install the little brass rings I left out of the intercooler core, and found that the rubber o-rings were fucked. After searching for replacement o-rings with no success we threw the old ones back in. Didn't work the best but it was definitely better than it was before. So, threw some 100 octane in it, after bleeding the intercooler, went out, and drove the **** out of it. Totally untuned, running 15 degrees of timing with the 2.6" pulley. I'm still trying to figure it out, but the son of a bitch was running 24 psi boost!!! Pulled like a ***** though. 0-60/70 mph was pure tire spin, once it hooked up, it seemed to haul up to 112 mph in the blink of an eye. PCM is still ignoring the O2 sensor, but it was running a steady 11.3 afr at WOT. I was only shifting at like 6700, but it was pulling way hard up to the shift. The car is going to be a freakin beast once its tuned. I tried to find my camera, but couldn't so I didn't get videos, sorry. Oh, and on those pulls, I had 2 friends in the car!!!
